Being an engineer, and having lived with NASA astronauts as neighbors in the past, I was fascinated by the "work the problem" issue, and after reading the book, had to see the movie, and purchase it for my library.

What else is there to say. From the setting, to the story to the acting I think this movie is just perfect. If you are into outer space type movies or are a fan of Matt Damon do yourself a favor and give this a watch.

Great movie and wasn’t going to pay to rent, so bought the Blu-ray and digital version so I can watch anytime I want!

One of the better movies this year, the Martian takes us on a more comedic cast away setting where Matt Damon must use his knowledge to stay alive in a mysterious setting where he must create good and learn to survive

The 4K Version of the Martian came in just like I had an anticipated. The quality of it is fantastic. I love how I got a digital copy of it attached to this version, which also includes the theatrical version.

One of the best movies not only of the year...but of the decade! Matt Damon is fantastic in this. Just the right blend of terror, suspense and a bit a wry sarcasm and humor blend to make this a fantastic movie event!

"...you get to come home." One of my favorite movies of 2015 - Great story, some action, a little comedy, some suspense, and a sprinkle of drama all rolled in one epic film. A must see for any movie aficionado!!

I don't want to give away anything, but Matt Damon was outstanding in this movie. Acting, writing, directing, and casting were all superb! Probably the best movie I watched in 2015. Well, that or The Force Awakens.

The Martian, Ridley Scott's film about an astronaut surviving on a desolate planet, is at heart a shipwreck story, one that just happens to take the form of a science fiction adventure. The 7.1 audio mix is very good

Bought this not knowing much about the movie. The wit and humor where a delightful suprise. Solid plot and acting. I think this film can be enjoyed by lots of different types of people due to its character and story.

I am a sci-fi fan and this is one of my new favorites. If you haven't seen the movie, it is the millennial version of Robinson Crusoe. Lots of science based dialog and action, but still a good story with good dialog.

I enjoyed this movie though I had trouble getting it to play on my 3D BluRay player and had to go back to my original BluRay player. This movie is potentially a future real life drama, we (or some f us) will see.

Excellent movie. Very good plot (Matt does a great job of portraying survival on the red planet), Well acted. The other cast are all great, but this is Matt's movie. Very highly recommended!!

From someone who never reviews things have to say this was a Great, comical, intelligent, syfy movie. Not to take away from tom hanks role in cast away but thought I was almost watching updated version of cast away.

This movie is very entertaining and one of Matt Damon's best. Special effects are awesome and the story line is very well written. Without giving it away, the ending is even more cooler. Need to watch it yee all....

Fantastic movie that I genuinely enjoyed after expecting it to be soooo boring. A guy completely alone on a planet? How can that be interesting? I was wrong! So good! The 4K Blu Ray is a mixture of Upscaled 2K and 4K native which is not as awesome as a complete 4K would be but it is still better than a normal Blu Ray so worth a buy.

I enjoy most things that involve a realistic view of space travel. The book is great and the movie does it justice. I recommend the extended version as it explains more about all he has to do to survive. However, if you read the book you may be disappointed with some of the changes.

This movie is absolutely wonderful. You can see why Matt Damon is considered one of the great actors of this generation. Everything from comedy to heartbreak to action is in this film and it delivers on all fronts.

This was an amazing movie about the human spirit and will to survive such dire situations. This blu-ray packaging comes with a great presentation of video and audio for the movie and the bonus features are a bonus.

This is a very faithful adaptation of the boook its based on. It's so well made, you find yourself with your fingers crossed and on the edge of your seat, despite having read the book and knowing he gets out alive.
