Already a legend on TV, Mel Brooks had a run of great films that he directed that most people would envy. This box set includes all of his best, save for THE PRODUCERS. The best way to know the impact some of these films have had is to tweet or facebook a line from BLAZING SADDLES, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, SPACEBALLS, or the others and just watch people comment back with the next line. The price was excellent and the BluRay transfers are great. Plenty of bonus features included, this set is one that you will play more than once.

What can you say about Mel Brooks except genius? This inexpensive Blu Ray collection brings us some of Brooks' classic films. You get The Twelve Chairs, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, the highly under-appreciated Silent Movie, High Anxiety, History of the World Part I, To Be or Not to Be, Spaceballs, and Robin Hood Men in Tights. All that is missing from the "true essentials" is The Producers, Life Stinks, and Dracula Dead and Loving it. 9 movies on 8 discs for less than $30.

Great titles all in one convenient collection. Prepare to laugh!

I happened to get this set when it was almost 50% off, but it would still be quite the bargain at regular price. The main thing this set has going for it is that it contains Brooks' best movies—Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Silent Movie, History of the World Part 1, and To Be or Not To Be. Buying these separately would cost more than this set, which contains an additional three movies. Those other three movies are not really Brooks' best work. Spaceballs was silly when it came out—not to mention that it arrived several years too late, at a time when it appeared that we had seen all we were going to get of Star Wars. Robin Hood: Men in Tights has its moments, but feels lackluster compared to his earlier work. The earliest movie included here, The Twelve Chairs, is one I have never been able to get into. But the real draw here is those classic '70s/early '80s comedies, with their outrageous humor, silly word play, and quotable catchphrases. Highly recommended.

Great collection of Mel Brooks movies. Lots of classics included.

Wonderful collection of Mel Brooks films. Loved watching gems like Twelve Chairs that I had never heard of. The only thing I would have liked to see (which this isn't a big deal) is that all the disc art looks like it was just re-used from their individual releases. It would have been nice if it all looked like it was part of a collection. That's barely a complaint. This collection is amazing. Go buy. buy. best buy.

Great collection of classic Mel Brooks. With the current movement towards political correctness (Mel Brooks is certainly not) I wanted to have my own copies of his films. With streaming services becoming the dominate method of viewing, they control what is seen or not seen, and it will become harder to find more classic movies.

The picture looks good, sound is good. This collection of his best movies makes for a great value. Lots of laughs. I don't review a movies performance as you would not know what I like or not in a movie and I have no history of movie reviews. So that seems pointless. The only shortcoming is not code to add these to your online movie library.

This set provides the biggest and funniest efforts of a great comedy legend. I absolutely love Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles. This is the best price for this set that you will find. Highly recommended for comic relief in these trying and difficult times.

The Mel Brooks Collection. Always admired Brooks Mel.

Greatest DVD ever. The best man of comedy and that is what you get with this dvd set. If you love the comedy of Mel Brooks get this while you can. It's a dvdset I will put on whenever I need a good laugh after a hard day. So good. Disappointed it did not include Spaceballs. But it's still a great set.

These items...the CDs and the DVDs and all the electronics and Blu-Ray movies are totally awesome...we love Best Buy!!!!! We live ten minutes from the store and we keep going back for all the nice, great things that the store offers. We also do a lot of shopping on the Best Buy website. We cannot say enough about the store...we love it there. We hope that store will be around forever. We love, love, love it!!!!!!!

This set includes nine of Mel Brooks' comedic films, some of which stand the test of time like Blazing Saddles, and others fall a bit short like The Twelve Chairs and To Be or Not To Be. If you or a loved one is already a fan of these films then this is a great set to own but if you're not familiar with Brooks' film style or sense of humor I suggest you check out some of his movies like Young Frankenstein or History of the World part I first.

Despite several discs getting an anniversary re-release, this set covers all the classics with only movie that might be worth buying again for an upgrade. That movie is Blazing Saddles that is now available at different encoding bit rate along with a DTS track as opposed to Dolby Digital. For me, it was not worth the upgrade. The case houses all the movies and is a great space saver and value assuming you find it on sale and held out for these timeless movies on blu ray. The set includes Soaceballs, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part 1, and Young Frankenstein among others. A truly great representation from a comedy legend. Would have given five stars if not for Blazing Saddles re-issue. However, this set is still the best.

Mel Brooks! You just can't go wrong with this man. He's a maverick! He's a risk taker! He's a very dangerous! And best of all, he's my favorite! If you've never seen a Mel Brooks movie, you're missing out on something that will change your life. Mr. Brooks invented a new genre of comedy that's been ripped off by all the great comedy movies of the last 50 years.

Do I really have to sell you on the Mel Brooks Collection? That's like selling water to a man dying of thirst. It's Mel Brooks and all of the films are in glorious HD with bonus content. If you have the DVDs already like I did and VHS tapes before (yes I am that old) THIS IS STILL A MUST BUY.

Mel Brooks has always had a way with making comedy funnier than it already is. This collection of his best films is a welcome addition to any library of collectables. The price Best Buy had this marked at made it more enticing to get the full collection instead of piecing it together. Highly recommend this collection of his greatest hits.

Has all of Mel Brooks best films. Even contains the 12 Chairs which I have not seen available prior to the set. Mel Brooks is the only actor/director that I know other than John Wayne who continues/continued to use the same group of actors throughout his films. This is another reason that I have always enjoyed his films and have great respect for the man himself.
