I saw this movie at the cinema, and when I walked out of the darkened theatre my sides hurt so much from laughing you would have sworn I was suffering from appendicitis, and I rivalled Niagara Falls in my crying - the tears were just streaming down my face! This inane, farcical comedy has got to be one of the funniest films ever released. It's silly, but the silliness is funny and not pointless. Even the cameo actors are houmourous! Leslie Nielsen is fantastic as the deadpan, very moronic Frank Drebin, a bumbling detective who wouldn't know a criminal from a saint, and George Kennedy and OJ Simpson are perfect foils for his lunacy. (I'm surprised. I said something NICE about OJ Simpson!) And Priscilla Presley has never looked better. She and Leslie Nielsen have a chemistry between them that is lacking in many serious or other comedy movies. What can I say? This movie is great! I order you to stop reading these reviews and go and rent or buy this movie! Believe me, you won't regret it!

The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! is a 1988 American comedy film. The film stars Leslie Nielsen as the bumbling police Lieutenant Frank Drebin. The film also stars Priscilla Presley, George Kennedy, and O. J. Simpson. The film features fast-paced slapstick comedy, including many visual and verbal puns and gags. The film is based on the character created by Nielsen in the television series Police Squad!.

The Naked Gun on Blu-ray retains the natural grain in this 1080p, 1.78:1-framed transfer. Natural detail and film like texture present throughout film. Colors are well balanced and vibrant. Blacks are decent, with minimal crush. Very little dirt and scratches are visible. Little to No Banding and blockiness is almost non existent. This is an all around good bluray release.

Just a good comedy classic that everyone should watch. Sound and picture quality are good but there aren't any special features besides one commentary.

Along with 'Airplane!' and 'Airplane 2: The Sequel", the Naked Gun movies are some of the funniest movies out there.

Classic movie with many laughs. Some are very clever. Some are as low brow as can be. Entertainment pure and simple.

This is a very funny movie. My husband and I enjoy all the Police Academy and Naked Gun silly movies.

This hilarious movie is the first in a trilogy. Its also the best of the trilogy. the DVD doesn't have much bonus features. But it is still worth buying especially for the price.

Leslie Nielson is just about perfect in this spoof comedy that's similar to 'Hot Shots,' 'Top Secret,' and 'Airplane.' Highly recommended! Widescreen.
