Great machine to organize all of your paperwork. Less mess and less space to have everything.

This is a very sophisticated device/program. Much more then the casual scanner needs. The filing system for documents is probably well suited for a tech savvy businessperson. Likewise, for the receipt record keeping.

When attempting to scan documents with this product it quit after the second page. I was not happy with this and had to constantly restart the process

I try to install program but did install incomplete. After 3 time the program never work Then I call technical support they could not hel me Only one suggestion was given to re install program Did not work then I return the product

I have owned this hardware for 2 years and it has always had problems picking up the sheet without my manually pushing it in. It gets caught on the leading edge corner and folds the corner while twisting the paper. When it works, it is fast, but I can only do a page at a time babysitting each page. The software is slow and requires manual intervention with each page also.

Make sure you follow the instructions. Install software first. This is true on every piece of USB connected peripheral I've ever purchased. However, the software did not tell me WHEN to connect but I just did it after I rebooted my computer. Suggestion, think really hard about taking the cloud trial offer. I did not as I've finally learned that it's harder to get out of the trial and remembering to cancel. The pass through is very fast. The software is fairly intuitive and not overwhelming with bells and whistles. Thank goodness. I was amazed when the first cash register receipt that I scanned actually picked up the vendor and the tax amount. I was convinced of my choice of the Neat Desk with that first scan. Haven't had the device long enough to try searching for information from a receipt. Looking so forward to getting rid of paper piles.

works good with quick books, easy to install nice!

I just purchased this Neat scanner and like it very much. I am running it with a HP laptop with Windows 8.1, 4 GB memory and CORE i3 processor. I have not ran into any problems and the scanner works as promised. I would suggest to anyone that watching the 2 minute video tutorial will save you a lot of time and headache, when setting up your files. I think this is a very good product. The only downside is it is a little pricey at $399, but it will pay for itself in the long run.

I was iffy at first when using it but after running a few documents through I was really impressed.

The SnapScan product is excellent, and Neat Desk handles receipts and business cards superbly. However, the structure for files is not flexible enough and the scanning process is VERY labor intensive. The document scanning process needs to work as well as the receipts. To be fair, my system is several years old but i find the logic of how these documents are structured within their software just plain odd. I had great hope in the beginning and was just plain turned off by the end of it... I am looking for a way to import the documents i have in their cloud which is ANOTHER reason to complain. The documentation does not accurately describe the process so i am forced figure it out on my own.

I bought a neat scan and now have only to regret my bad choice. There is nothing special about the software, as for the hardware, it could not be devised worse. The tray does not have a guide, so the feeder pulls the paper sheets askew, and the result is a twisted page against a black background. In a cheaper epson or brother scanner you can change the background color from black to white, but neat software does not allow this solution. I wrote to the company and never ever got an answer, so I can assert that the after sales service is simply non existent. I strongly recommend other consumers to avoid making the same mistake.

I purchased the Neat desktop scanner yesterday. One page of the first 12 page document I tried to scan was destroyed because the roller pulled the page in crooked. It continued to do the same with a number of different documents. I have to question why only one center roller is used. Needless to say, the Neat scanner went back and was replaced with a Espon scanner from another retailer that works flawlessly. It's a shame because the Neat software was good, but it doesn't help me if I can't scan the documents in.

A one star rating is too high. We purchased a NeatDesk scanner to help us manage paper receipts and invoices. First we were able to use it to store our information offline in an external drive. We had an unrelated computer crash and had to re-install of the software. Once we re-installed it was no longer possible to store information offline without using their cloud. Neat offered no help and said the product wasn't designed to use that way. The product was not designed to use with external drives or thumb drives. What? Users are not allowed to store their information where they want? Bad design without any forethought of user needs. We are throwing away the product, counting our losses and are purchasing a user friendly, user compatible product.

So disappointed!! have been thinking about getting the Neat since they first came on the market. Finally got it yesterday, got home and installed on my Mac. First, the scan button was grayed out... looked for help in the Scanner Guide and no help there. Reading other reviews on the internet, found that the Scan folder was missing from the setup. Added the scan folder and the Scan button showed up. Next I scanned a pay stub, it took all night to analyze it and then it still was not finished by morning. I also scanned a simple store receipt, got the amount right but not any of the other details. Needless to say I'm on my way to return it and get my money back.
