I didn't really like this movie. It is very weird.

for whatever reason I thought this was going to be a tribute to Mario Bava's "Blood and Black Lace" since it takes place in the fashion industry. I cant tell you any more because I tried watching it three time and I fell asleep each time. Good for insomniacs.

A Movie had potential but in the end just fell flat

What did I just watch? Long shots of nothing. Stilted broken dialogue. Wow even the ending and overall message was empty. Not happy. Glad I only paid $2.71 for it.

The point of this movie is what? Possibly a venue for Elle Fanning to transition from teenager to adult? Story does not work...

I don't know what this movie was supposed to be about. It is confusing.

The idea of this movie sounds great however in the end probably should have stayed an idea.

Not what I expected, a depressing look at fashion.

This film operates on so many levels (emotional and intellectual) that I fear many who are afraid to peel the onion of the deeper insinuations of what "beauty" really is along with the modeling industry will only accept it at face value. This is to do The Neon Demon a serious injustice! True it is a horror movie, but not in the traditional sense. The horror comes from the incredible way the story is being told and ultimately where it goes...The mind-bending way in which this film infiltrates your consciousness is primarily in part due to the absolutely luscious and vivid experience, imagery, and contrasts. Nicolas Winding Refn is no doubt a student of Kubrick and Lynch as the influences of films like Eyes Wide Shut, The Shining, Mulholland Drive, etc. are quite evident. This is very good though as few visual journey's are so compelling and lingering. Days later and I'm still thinking about this film, a lot. Cliff Martinez's score is brilliant as always and does an amazing job of perpetrating the uncomfortable anticipation and unease of what may be coming next. Refn does a great job of making us wait for the resolution not unlike the nervous ride up a rollercoaster incline, knowing that once we reach the summit, the rapid descent will be horrific. Elle Fanning gives a performance that is as beautiful as it is disturbing. Perhaps she is only outmatched by the performance of Jena Malone who should definitley be given a huge amount of credit for her portrayal of the character Ruby.

Nicholas Winding Refn, known best for his film Drive, is regarded for his style over substance but in the best way possible. The way he shapes his movies in such a surreal and visceral manner to the point where the story is told through his style without the need for any substance whatsoever. The Neon Demon, his latest film, is easily his most stylish, and his darkest film yet. Following Elle Fanning's character into the cutthroat world of fashion and runway modeling, she's immediately swept up by the glamour and attention, not realizing the danger that quickly manifests itself through some of the "contestants" she works alongside. This is a true psychological horror, and is not for everyone, but with a slew of great performances, awesome imagery and a haunting soundtrack, The Neon Demon is a cinematic experience you rarely see.

Didn't think I was going to like this movie upon the first watch but it was so disturbingly original that I couldn't get it out of my head for almost a month! Very weird, atmospheric movie that I'm still thinking about. Saw it at Best Buy for $11.99 and couldn't resist at that price.

I recommend this movie with all my heart, even knowing that it is not really for everyone. It is beyond the strange and rare, and it is much more a visual narrative. However, it has a history. If you are in the mood for that then this movie is for you (if you are able to get into it). If not, or are skeptical, then you will be disappointed. In my opinion this is a great movie that has elements of which you can enjoy. In the end, it's weird, it's unique, it's... an incredibly cerebral experience.

Good movie. Great soundtrack. I highly recommended it.

Saw this film with my wife and absolutely enjoyed it. Looks great on the 4K TV.

Some interesting visuals on the fashion industry but after finishing the movie, I was like meh, so what?. It was not a really gratifying experience for me.
