Loved it as a kid but not sure why. Recently rewarched it, just seems very odd and long.

"The Neverending Story" is a film that centers around a boy named Bastian Bux who finds refuge in using his imagination and reading fiction books having to do with quests. He ends up reading a book set in the world Fantasia and unintentionally discovers that he plays a role in the outcome of this mystical world. Somehow, the destinies of Bastian Bux and the warrior Atreyu become intertwined. Atreyu gets help in his journey from a luck dragon named Falkor. The following actors/actresses are featured in "Neverending Story": Barrett Oliver, Noah Hathaway, Tami Stronach, Alan Oppenheimer, Thomas Hill, Deep Roy, Tilo Pruckner, Moses Gunn, Sydney Bromley, Patricia Hayes, and Gerald McRaney. "The Neverending Story" is a brilliant fantasy film for audiences of all ages.

'The Neverending Story' is one of those magical fantasy films that just never gets old and is suitable for all ages. Its rich story, strong musical score, and beautiful production design make it a one-of-a-kind timeless masterpiece. Highest recommendation for this film, but don't bother wasting your time watching any of the sequels. This dvd offers both a beautiful anamorphic widescreen transfer and a cropped full-screen version, but not much along the lines of extras other than the original trailer and some brief character bios.

A fine magical film, though it may be a bit too scary/slowly paced for some young viewers. A practical effects visual feast, richly scored. Not a very "deluxe" package for an anniversary edition (trasfer is nice, but expect a future re-issue with a more spotless pass-through), but a small mix of new and old features will entertain those looking for more about the film.

This movie is a fantastic love letter to every fairy tale out there. Atreyu was a character that made me look at heroes differently. This film is a timeless classic and has some amazing characters designs. Buy this gem!

This flick was a great trip down memory lane. Brought be back to my childhood in the 80's. It actually holds up very well. Recommended!! Warning to parents of small children: some scary parts & dark imagry.

I bought this as a nostalgic movie for my sister and brother-in-law. What's not to love about the Neverending Story? We were quoting it before it was even put in the DVD player.

This is an awesome movie that should be passed down from generation to generation. It's an epic story of fantasy and suspense that all kids, and adults, can truly enjoy.

NeverEnding Story is my favorite movie of all time. I love the story, characters and musical score. They don't make them like this any more!
