What a great mini series. If you liked or loved Band Of Brothers you'll definitely would like The Pacific. This mini series takes us back to the Pacific Theater during the early events of the Second World War with Japan. Great story telling, production, and cast.

This collection of discs contains the HBO miniseries "The Pacific," which highlights the bloody campaign in the Pacific theater during World War 2. This series is fascinating as it is gory as it shows the horror of war from the view of those who fought it.

I wrote the same review for Band of Brothers "Is so well made on so many levels. Unless you absolutely hate war movies or hate movies in general, there's no reason not to watch. If you've seen it, you would want to get this on blu ray (especially is pretty cheap now)" :)

I watched Band of Brothers and watching this was a logical choice. If you have to choose Band of Brothers is better but this series is great. I got it as a gift for my dad and he actually watched all 6 discs in one sitting (same as he did for Band of Brothers).

This series is long but well worth your investment in the time it takes to watch this 10 hour saga. Some really good acting performances and epic battle scenes keep this long movie interesting.

If this was to be compared directly to Band of Brothers, the story on The Pacific is all over the place. Doesn't really follow a unit in particular. Follows specific soldiers at different times. I think that's what made this mini series a little harder to follow. Don't get me wrong, it is still a great mini series and a great tribute to those men that fought in the Pacific during WWII. But I think if the series would of focused on a unit instead of on certain individuals, the series would of hit bigger than it did.

If you liked Band of Brothers , you will love this set. I have watched this series at least 6 times and it gets better every time, because i see new things i didn't notice before. If you are a WW2 buff then buy this set and Band of Brothers set.

I bought this for $10 on a Black Friday sale and gave it to my dad as a gift. What I saw of it was great. It was especially neat because I'm a veteran who was stationed in the Pacific for one tour and this did a nice job of highlighting the history of that island/base.

I thought this film was great. Telling the story of the men of the United States Marine Corps and how they fought in the pacific. I'm a fan of military war films that show the true courage and commitment of our servicemen and women. Highly recommend this mini series.

Story is great- received a good deal on this 10 disc set. I would highly recommend to any WWII era- history fan. What the people of that generation did to rid the war of evil was and is unprecedented.

Not as great as Band of Brothers, but it is a great follow-up in World War II storytelling. It will hold its own in this genre. Viewing it in FHD only adds to experience. The portrayal of the horrors and heroism of war is evident in this series.

I did not know that what I bought is the steel case version, I would not have hesitated at all if the listing shows that, this is a great must own TV show for any fan of Band of Brothers

A very realistic rendition of what our Marines encountered during WWII battles in the Pacific. This DVD gives the viewer the struggles each Marine had both during and after battles. A good addition to any WWII library.

After really enjoying Band of Brothers, I was really looking forward to this series. My Grandpa served in the War in the Pacific during World War 2 so this series was very interesting to watch with my dad. Great series and a big recommend here.

An outstanding historical series based on the United States Marine Corps during World War II. The series really developed each story and followed the Marines from the beginning of the war at home until the end of the war and return to civilian life.

I actually haven't seen this series myself because I got it as a gift for my dad. However, I asked him how he liked it and he says he loves it!! Anyone who is a former service member or enjoys armed forces history will appreciate this set.

The Pacific has been called Band of Brothers darker, gorier counterpart for good reason. Expect to see characters you learn to love emotionally and sometimes physically shredded by their experiences in the war. Not for the feint of heart or weak of stomach ( a scene where a mortarman drops rocks into a deceased Japanese soldier's blown-open head to see the "splash" comes to mind) The Pacific will haunt you.

This high quality series provides great education on WW II Pacific battles. Many WW II movies do a good job of covering the European part of the war, but many fewer movies are available covering the Pacific front, especially at Blu-Ray quality.

This really is a must-see series. Showing the hardship the Marines endured during the Pacific Theater really gives the viewer a better idea how formidable the Japanese were. Great theme song composed by Hans Zimmer! Take the time to watch this.
