this movie seriously rocks from begining to end this movie = the best its the best film i saw since arnies movie predator this movie seriously rocks no matter how sad it is and how unrealistic it is it still rocks i just wish slayer or megadeth or metallica or dream theater did the soundtrack to this movie plus all those bands seriously are talented!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sony has done it again bringing another wonderful film to 4k. Remarkably strong presentation and a massive upgrade over the previously released Blu-ray.

This is a very good film adaptation of the American Revolution, and believe me i do not like war films. Mel gibson and Heath Ledger give great performances and work great together. This film is obviously not going to be exact, its a hollywood movie and they tend to over dramatize things but over all regardless if you hate or love war movies you will like it and you owe yoursef to watch this movie.

Got a great movie at a reduced price.Have watched this a few times.

In The Patriot, Mel Gibson does a decent job of playing both father and warrior. Heath Ledger prefers to play an unremarkable love-sick teenager rather than actually contribute to the movie, but he doesn't detract from it either. The action is solid, and provides an interesting look into warfare at the time.

This was an enjoyable movie blu-ray made it better.

Would have liked to see a few more extras on this release but the movie is definitely worth an upgrade from DVD.

While I won't say the Patriot is utterly terrible, it's far too unrealistic considering how serious it tries to be, which makes it a disappointment in my opinion. Widescreen with ample bonus material, fans who enjoy bonus features may want to purchase this version over the more expensive SuperBit release that is bare-bones but has DTS sound that's not available here.

Mel Gibson is a great actor and this movie is good, and you put the two together and get a pretty good movie. If you like action movies this is a movie for you.

The movie is just horribly untrue. The movie demonizes the British and whitewashes the Colonists. Someone please explain how slavery is completely downplayed in South Carolina and how the British freeing of slaves was a major thumb in the eye to the Colonists. And to add insult to injury, the British are seen to commit war crimes that the SS carried out in WWII, not during the Revolutionary War! I wouldn't care about the historical issues if the movie didn't present itself as accurate. Heck, I have heard of school kids watching the movie as a true portrayal of the era!
