Peanuts is a wonderful update to the classic series and specials that we grew up with. The animation is unique and beautiful, putting the character's into a new dimension, but keeping the same charming character renderings that we know and love. The story is sweet and engaging for all ages and is a must see.

Movie was great for the entire family. Die hard Peanuts Fans. Daughter loved plush Snoopy.

I grew up on the comic strip and holiday specials, so I always wondered why Charlie Brown and company couldn't inspire a decent Hollywood adventure. There were earlier movies, of course, tracing back to 1969's "A Boy Named Charlie Brown," but the big screen adventures of the Peanuts Gang seemed punier in scope than the competition on TV, which might explain the 35 year gap between this film and "Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown." This 2015 film redresses that by giving the animation a computer-generated face-lift and going back to some of the original story lines ( the screenplay is by Craig and Bryan Schultz, Charles M.'s son and grandson). The result is a perfectly enjoyable concoction for family viewing--funny, nostalgic, and sweet, just like Charlie Brown.

I still read "Peanuts" fairly regularly, even though no new strips have been published in nearly 20 years. There's a reason why the late Charles M. Schulz was the most successful cartoonist of the 20th century and "The Peanuts Movie" reminds us why - his characters are likable and everyone can relate to them. And this movie entertains the audience by linking together story lines from a variety of "Peanuts" strips. Fans of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy and the rest of the gang are sure to enjoy this fabulous animated film.

Peanuts has always been a staple of so many childhoods for many decades but has lost its way over time. This extremely faithful iteration in the peanuts 'saga' feels like coming home again. Nothing has really changed and it's all the better for it. Managing the same feelings one felt watching the original incarnation of Peanuts is no small task. The beautiful picture and 3D really add to this package. Extremely recommended! Hopefully we don't have to wait decades to see more advances of Charlie Brown.

I have always loved the Peanuts series since I was a child. From reading the strips in the comics section to watching the 30 minute shorts around Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. This movie is a continuation of those feel good stories. I love the antics of Snoopy as well. Both are extremely funny and I will admit, I shed a tear or two. All in all, Charlie Brown is the man!

I usually shy from modern takes on classics, but I made an exception since my son wanted to see it. I'm glad I did. It's a refreshing homage to the Charlie Brown we all know with just a few changes and additions. The creators knew they needed to keep the story simple and wholesome, and they did. Best part? No cell phones and no slang in it. Wonderful movie.

If you like the original Peanuts cartoons you watched on TV, then you'll love this version. The characters look great and the stories are classic Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and all the gang. It's great, my granddaughter likes watching it with me. I have the 3D version and it looks really good.

This movie is wonderful if you loved the Peanuts strip. It is heartwarming and teaches the lessons of life as a child growing up. Snoopy gets a girlfriend (Fifi) and this is a new character to the Peanuts family, but it works well and long overdue.

Let me begin by saying, 'I am a life-long Peanuts fan. I am only in my 30's and wasn't even born when the most famous of Peanuts movies were first aired on TV. But I've read almost every comic created by Charles Schultz.' That said, this update to the world of Charlie Brown & Friends was done right. It manages to blend the perfect amount of nostalgia and familiarity with its new storyline. It's immediately recognizable as a Peanuts movie. Yes, it retreads some of the concepts from the old TV specials, but that only serves as a great introduction to a new generation of viewers (beautifully modern graphics and all). So many "updates" to classic cartoons or tv shows get it wrong. They forget what made the originals great to begin with. In exchange, we get a terrible story or someone else's narrow vision of the old material or some slapped-together consumer sellout project. Hey Hollywood, shiny graphics aren't enough to make a vintage product relevant for a new fan-base. That's what makes the Peanuts story so balanced. Their new movie could have been made 60 years ago or today and it would still work. It beautifully updates an old formula, while honoring what made the original movies so beloved. The creative team should be recognized for getting it right. If you need another recent example where an old formula gets remade correctly; look to the new Star Wars film. A great revisit that connects the original trilogy: It pays homage, yet still stands on its own. I hope there are more Peanuts movies like this one going forward. There are enough movies out there that look great, but have no heart. The new Peanuts has a ton of heart. And might I add: 1) It is SO refreshing to watch a family film that is clean (no crude or rude behavior needed). 2) It's also fortunate that Peanuts is void of the eye-rolling pop-culture references that makes other movies irrelevant two months after their release. The best movies avoid those traps and stand the test of time for it. Peanuts proves both can be done and still entertain. I highly recommend!

The Peanuts Movie is enjoyable for audiences of all ages, and I am glad to have picked it up on sale. Blu-ray quality looks great and the music is classic! If you love the Charlie Brown specials and music, then this will be a nice treat.

The Peanuts movie might just be the cutest, family friendly animation I have seen in recent memory. Our hero Charlie Brown is at it again trying to succeed at life to no avail but things take a special turn when The Little Red-Haired Girl moves into town. Can Charlie Brown build up his confidence and even talk to her while overcoming his string of untimely missteps? The movie pays a lot of homage to the original specials while still staying fresh. The whole movie feels like an extended slice of life that takes us from Christmastime through the end of the School year. The animation style is soft and beautiful and character voices do an excellent job of conveying the characters we have grown to love. Snoopy is back again with his imaginary antics as the World War 1 Flying Ace, but this time he is accompanied by a female counterpart, Fifi. The soundtrack also uses familiar cues from the Christmas special but other than 2 contemporary music tracks which work well when used, we are given s soothing and uplifting orchestral score. One thing I also loved about this show is how Charlie Brown never seems to be beaten down as much as he is encouraged by his friends and Snoopy in this one. Also, if you are looking for double entendre or adult humor that gets squeezed into animated films to try to appease parents, it is nowhere to be seen. This is a movie that had strict oversight by the Schultz family to make sure it would be true to his vision and values and this movie succeeds. Overall, tearful and uplifting - I highly recommend it to any fans of Peanuts or family movies.

I was easily one of Snoopy’s biggest fans in the 80’s. I had every Snoopy stuffed animal (Snoopy, Belle, Spike and Woodstock) they made. I also had several of the outfits they sold for Snoopy to wear. Yes, I was a fan, and now I am a 6’4” 230 lb 40 year old man that still has a soft spot for the beagle in my heart! So, when I decided to try out the Peanuts Movie, I was a little leery they might mess up one of my favorite characters of all time. I am happy to say they haven’t! The plotline of the film here is basically following Charlie Brown as he adores a cute little red-head girl. Hijinks and antics ensue as the gang helps or hinders Charlie in that process. That is the plotline that the kids will enjoy. However, that is not what the adults will enjoy. Let’s face it. In order for this movie to be a hit, the movie would have to play well to kids, but more importantly to parents who are coming in hoping for a Charlie Brown Christmas experience. The good news is they get it in spades here. Scene after scene will help parents recall the Peanuts of their youth. There are mentions of Joe cool the red baron, Lucy pulling the football, Linus and his blanket, the great pumpkin etc. etc. This is really a wonderful walk down memory lane for those of us who ever loved the gang! In the end we have been given a gift for the fans of the Peanuts. An actual modern update to an age old cast of characters we love. Now if only we could get the kids to love it as much as the adults
