This is a pretty good installment in the Predator series. It definitely is not my favorite installment, but it is still a pretty solid and interesting movie.

Not as good as the 1st or the 3rd movie, second was a dumpster fire, but is fun to watch. I am a huge fan of the series and even saw the 1st in the theater.

When a young boy accidentally triggers the universe's most lethal hunters' they return to Earth for battle, an ex-soldiers team and a upset scientist can prevent the end of the human race or so they think...really love the predator movie..

This was a very graphic and bloody film as compared to the original film. It is still a good action science fiction movie. The picture and sound are clear.

Awesome movie, I was watching and not listening to anything and the movie is Great. Can't beat a good movie and this movie is so good it will blow your mind. I can't believe how awesome this movie is it feels like there really are predators coming to invade our planet. I hope to meet them one day.

This movie expands the Predator universe well. I never saw this in the theater and decided to just buy this. Glad I did. Sharp picture and really good SFX.

Ok, the 5 stars may be a little overboard for most. I am a fan of the first Predator and this is a fun movie that follows the timeline. A little over the top in the blood on a few scenes but the humor keeps it in check. And for the fans, lots of easter eggs! No spoilers, just check it out for yourself.

Shane Black, who was a cast member of the iconic original PREDATOR back in ’87, returned as cowriter (with frequent collaborator Fred Dekker) and director for this year’s THE PREDATOR. Though uneven and featuring a bland lead performance, the film nevertheless manages to have some fun while expanding on the mythos. Nothing will ever match John McTiernan’s tough guy masterpiece that introduced the trophy-obsessed creatures, but Black does admirable work here, even if it feels sloppy in parts. Elite military sniper Quinn McKenna (a generic Boyd Holbrook who was much better in LOGAN) stumbles upon a crashed Predator spaceship in the midst of a rescue mission. In an attempt to maintain secret proof of his momentous discovery, he mails some of the alien gear to his home where his autistic and gifted son (Jacob Tremblay, holding his own against older and much more seasoned actors) inadvertently interacts with it. McKenna is soon arrested and labeled as crazy in order to keep him quiet. On the bus to a mental facility, he meets a charismatic group of misfits including Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen, and Augusto Aguilera. At the same time, Dr Casey Brackett (tough and resourceful Olivia Munn) is recruited by a sinister and single-minded black ops head named Traeger (Sterling K. Brown relishing his villainous role). When a Predator is unleashed on the secret black ops facility, it leads to the escape of McKenna and his newfound friends who soon team up with Dr Brackett make sure McKenna’s young son and his new toys don’t fall prey to either the marauding Predator or the ruthless Traeger. Keep an eye out for the extended cameo by Jake Busey, who plays the son of his father’s character from 1990’s PREDATOR 2. Let’s start with what doesn’t work. The character of McKenna is fairly one-dimensional and Holbrook’s flavorless performance doesn’t do much to alleviate the issue. Though Munn is obviously game and fun to watch, she doesn’t quite pull off a role that requires brains and muscle. Thomas Jane, playing a man with Tourette’s, borders on going over the top into shtick. There’s also an overreliance on CGI. Some of the effects are fine, like all the spaceship sequences, and some is not so great, like the super Predator that shows up toward the middle of the film. Speaking of the super Predator, I’m torn on that concept. On the one hand, the idea's been done with AVP and ALIEN: RESURRECTION so it’s a little stale. On the other, it advances the concept of a rift in the Predator society that was hinted at with 2010’s PREDATORS, which is a wrinkle that I like seeing followed up on. Black, known for masterfully weaving blue-collar guy comedy with thrilling action sequences, continues that here. Not all of the jokes land, leading to some tonal inconsistency, but the film is fun for the most part. As noted above, I like how this film expands on the Predator universe mythology whilst also calling back to previous series entries. Amidst all this, Black also leaves some major threads for future installments to follow up on. There’s a decent amount of gore and property damage is plentiful. Despite some iffy performances, everyone involved clearly had a ball. Of the four main Predator films, I’d probably place Shane Black’s THE PREDATOR in fourth place. However, I enjoyed the film and will gladly revisit it. I wouldn’t mind if the next sequel specifically brought together all of the entries with some recurring characters, and if Black returned as a writer and director, I wouldn’t object. I’d say this is a flawed film, but I won’t hesitate to recommend it to franchise fans and those who’ve enjoyed Black’s other films.

If you go in comparing it to the others, sure you may be disappointed, but if you go in with no expectations to be entertained, the movie delivers.

Good movie. Not going to hand it any awards or anything but always been a fan of predator movies, and this one kept me entertained like i expected.

I had decided after the previous Predator I would not buy this one but after talking to a friend they recommended it. Much better than I expected

i really liked this movie wasn't expecting much of it but i had good action and comradery. it had funny scenes & looking forward to the follow up!

Overall I think this was a pretty good movie. There is a lot of humor, kind of cheesy but if you are a fan of the Predator movies you will like it.

It is not what you would think when it comes to the predator and overall a good movie but doesnt top the first one. Funny yes great not quite there

Fan of the series, but you have to take it for what it is... if you're going to overanalyze, you're watching the wrong kind of movie.

This movie is very tongue in cheek. If you go in with an open mind and let the film have fun, you'll enjoy the movie and its over the top antics.

Most reviews out there say this movie is horrible, but in my opinion it's not that bad. The action is good and we get some humor in there as well.

this movie had most of keys needed for a hit movie, but a big name. Boyd Holbrook did a good job but lack emotional connection to his movie son.

The Predator is an interesting alien antagonist so it's a shame that pretty much every movie after the original has been subpar. The fights and special effects in this movie are very good. The problem seems to be some of the characters and the script. Many of the crass prisoner escapees aren't that likeable and the subplot with the kid was strange and unnecessary. It was an okay movie to watch once, but it wouldn't stand up to repeated viewings.
