this is a great classic movie for your collection.

You learn from The Princess Bride BluRay it was a late blooming phenomenon only really catching on when it hit VHS tape. Similarly My interest was drawn even later. Love, danger, grief, fighting, quests, humor and rescue all in the name of true love. Love of a grandpa for his grandson frames the story of love for the modern fairy tale couple Westley and Buttercup set in fairy tale days. The two commentaries by the director and the book's author William Goldman round out the phenomena of the movie. I wouldn't have thought it possible from Meathead director Rob Reiner. But he did a terrific job bringing The Princess Bride to life. Jump on board The Princess Bride BluRay for the extras and the ride to true love. It's well worth it!.

I have loved this movie ever since I was a child the thrilling adventure plus the romance and the comedy all my favorite things rolled into one movie. I was so excited to find this 30th anniversary addition at Best Buy that I knew I just had to have it, plus a huge bonus was that it was in blueray. You can’t go wrong with a classic like this I highly recommend this movie this is also a great family movie as well one your kids will love for a very long time.

As good as you remember it but the image used is for the 25th anniversary edition. The disc received was not that.

"The Princess Bride" ranks highly in the world of film as both a comedy and romantic film. It's hard to believe that it's over 25 years old at this writing, but that helps to explain its status as a cult phenomenon. The story of a beautiful young woman (Buttercup) and the farm boy (Westley) who loves her, loses her, and then regains her love, transcends generational gaps. Throw in outstanding character actors like Mandy Patinkin, Chris Guest, Billy Crystal, Carol Kane, and Christopher Sarandon and you've got a classic tale of fantasy, love, and daring. Oh yeah, there's pirates and a giant, too! It's a wonderful story that families could enjoy watching together.

Great movie! BestBuy’s movie section is a mess but if you can find what you are looking for their prices aren’t bad.

I’ll tell you right out of the gate, it’s impossible for me to give this movie an unbiased review. I loved it when I saw it in ’87, owned it on VHS, DVD, and now Blu-Ray. It’s a story of true love conquers all that manages to be touching, heroic, inspiring, occasionally silly, and funny. The casting was inspired (Billy Crystal as Miracle Max has gotta be my favorite), and the characters are unforgettable. This film is destined to be a classic. It’s the kind of experience I hope I can one day share with my grandkids. If you haven't already seen it, watch it – I’d suggest with someone you love.

A good classic for everyone in the family. A steady pace through out the movie with plenty of laughs.

Running at 98 mins and now with the remastered blu-ray movie. Its great to see an older classic in HD. As we jump into the story told by a grandfather , we realize that it isn't just a run of the mill love story. This is an epic adventure full of memorable characters. The 25th anniversary includes some great extras worth watching. Extras that didn't really exist when watching this movie on VCRs. The movie is older so there may be a few props that don't match our modern day special effects. These small things won't change how you feel about the movie. Would recommend Stardust as another movie full of adventure.

This movie, though produced over 25 years ago, had become a cult classic. Directed by Rob Reiner. Nobody in Hollywood thought they could do the book justice, so the project continually got passed over, until "Meathead" Reiner decided to give it a shot. Needless to say, it turned out wonderfully. I watch it every few years when I'm in the mood for a cute comedy, as do many others. If you like the movie as much as most people, don't neglect to read the book by William Goldman. (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, among other screenplays and books)

I've owned this movie as a VHS tape, DVD, and now the Blu-ray 30th Anniversary Edition. This doesn't add much content that wasn't on previous editions, but the remastering really improves the presentation, especially on a large screen. The video and audio quality really are superb. As to the movie itself, it's a timeless classic for the entire family. One of only a few movies that you'll watch again and again. Romance, adventure, comedy, it's all there with a terrific cast and some of the most quoted lines ever.

Criterion has done an excellent job here with the storybook case and the quality video. Normally I discard packaging and store my Blu-ray’s in an organizer, but I am definitely keeping this as is. This is a charming physical object as well as an old favorite. Comfort viewing at its best.

This is a great film about a princess and Andre The Giant is awesome in his role.

Great movie..misleading fake 30th anniversary cover. Disappointed. I wish they'd please stop GLUEING a fake cardboard to my movies. It ruined the plastic real cover! I can not recommend this unless you get the one without the fake cover.

The Princess Bride, is a heartwarming adventure full of memorable characters, lines, and performances. It has action, adventure, romance, drama, and suspense; it has so many subgenres they honestly weren't even sure how to market it! I loved watching this as a kid and as an adult, it hasn't aged a day. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it. If you have, I'm surprised you're still reading this review, you should have the VHS, DVD, and now this Bluray in your collection.

Very entertaining movie, and very funny, it’s a good movie for all ages

Very slow and corny, but a classic. Bring me back to my child hood.

Seriously, this movie is one of the best movies ever made. It is a lighthearted parody of fairy tales, romcoms, adventure/action movies, love stories, you name it. It's got fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles. Some of the most memorable lines in movie history, and a soundtrack by Mark Knopfler. One of my family's favorites
