Ever have a movie that when it comes on TV you have to watch it? This is one of them for me. I have quite a few of these movies that I need to watch when they come on TV and to save time, I buy the DVD/BlueRay so I don't NEED to watch it when they comes on TV, I figure I can just watch it whenever....and this philosophy works well for just about every movie I love.....but I have Princess Bride on DVD and BlueRay but my plan fails with it, when it comes on TV...I need to watch it. Always great. Now I need to go storm the castle.

This magical fairy tale story has, in many venues, been compared to the 'Wizard of Oz'. And in all honesty, I must agree. An exceptionally poor movie trailer and overall bad marketing, pretty much left this film for dead at the box-office. And its a shame, because it had the potential to be one of the biggest money makers ever in my opinion. Thanks to VHS, the film began its meteoric climb to where it now sits as one of the most beloved family films in the history of cinema. Wonderful acting performances across the board are the highlight of this piece, and everyone in the family is almost sure to enjoy it. Highest recommendation!

From the first time I saw The Princess Bride, this movie has been a favorite of mine. It delivers a wonderful movie on many levels: action, adventure, romance, and comedy. The acting is good, particularly Mandy Patinkin as the inimitable Inigo Montoya, and I can think of no one better to play vizzini than Wallace Shawn. This movie has the quality that lifts it from simply a good or great movie to one of my favorites: repeatability. I have watched this movie at least a dozen times, and I'm still not bored of it. Plus, it has immense quotability! There are so many good qualities to this movie, it's inconceivable!

This movie is a must have. The storyline is fantastic. Each character is unique and contributes tremendously to the journey. It's another one of those films where you don't want to know any details of it. Just watch it. Anything revealed would just be a spoiler. And as a warning? Know that it may seem like there are some annoyances in the beginning. That it may appear to be a children's movie. It's not. But it's one that can be enjoyed as a child and even more greatly appreciated as an adult. Keep watching.

Do you enjoy stories about true love, high adventure, and revenge? Then the Princess Bride may just be for you. It is a timeless tale that will never grow stale. I have seen this movie 30+ times at the point I am writing this and, despite it's lack of grandiose costumes or props, I don't foresee this movie ever leaving the top spot of my favorite films. It just has so much charm.

Not only do I own this DVD but every time this movie is on tv I watch it. The acting, the writing, directing are all great. It's such a great story and a great mix of characters played perfectly by everyone in the film. There are so many little funny moments and lines throughout and even the Cassio-sounding score with fake orchestra makes the film a little more quirky. The special features are great with a couple featurettes and other little bonuses. You can't go wrong with this.

If you want the best example of a straight forward damsel in distress saved by her true love... this is it. The wife and I can quote nearly the whole movie, line by line. A simple fairy tale told in a humorous and classy way. I recommend this for kids as well as lovers (both young and old). We have all the DVD and Blu-Ray versions. This is the best one as it includes more bonus features. Movie quality isn't that much better than DVD though as far as I could tell.

As one of very few movies that get very near perfection, The Princess Bride should be in everyone's collection. The actors are all pretty much excellent, there is good laughs and Andre the Giant...no further description should be required.

This is a funny movie that actually has a plot and a story to follow. The movie is great in that it will make you laugh and laugh some more. I loved it and I have added it personally to my collection of DVDs that I own. The first time I saw this was in the 6th grade and I was glued to the TV when I saw it for the first time. It is a greast movie for you to watch alone and laugh or sit the whole family down and watch it together.

The movie looks great. It is the same blu-ray as the one that was first released. The only difference is packaging, an additional feature and digital copy. Depending on when you get your digital copy it might not be available in HD. The blu-ray has all the prior features and extras from the last DVD release. Great blu-ray replacement/addition to the collection.

This is one of the sweetest most wonderful movies ever. It is one of the rare film were the casting director really got it right. I mean who would have ever guessed that Andre the Giant could act. Most importantly I want to stress that this is not just a film for kids. And once you see it, you will be quoting this movie for the rest of your life. This is one of movie you can watch again and again and never get bored.

Purchased this movie for my 13 year old Neice who has really gotten into watching love stories, but sometimes it's not easy to find love stories that are suitable for younger viewers...this movie was great.... even for males too, it was romance, action and comedy all role up in one. I would highly recommend this movie to people of all ages.

this is a wonderful movie filled with action & adventure as well as comedy! the sword fightig was amazing, along with the different chase scenes after the princess! i would recommend this movie to othe rbecaus it is a true classic story of love unending!

One of my favorite movies and I watch it a few times a month even if it's just to re-watch my favorite parts. First time I watched it was on vhs and it was alright. After it was out on dvd, I re-watched it and really enjoyed it. It's a nice romance with it's funny and serious parts and so many memorable lines.

This is a Wonderful movie for kids and adults alike. A must-see-movie that will keep you entertained and laughing, while taking you on a light-hearted, emotional roller coaster ride that you'll never want to end

Well to start off Wit,I have been watchinq dis movie since i was a little. Its Kinda cheese sometimes..but i still like da movie. If you kno da brand "OBEY" in oriqanated fromAndre the qiant....who plays a role in dis movie.....i would recomend dis movie 2 bout all da ppl dat read mii review.(:

This will always be a great movie. If you haven't seen it yet, please stop what you are doing now and watch The Princess Bride. Watch this with your kids, if you have any, or just on your own. It's a wonderful tale full of romance and adventure. This is a must own.

This is a classic fantasy-romance movie, filled with memorable lines and incredible performances. It's not to be missed. And this is a great blu-ray, filled with features about the making and legacy of the movie.

" 'ello my name is Inego Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die" I can't count the amount of times my husband and I have quoted that back to each other. This is a sweet tale, one which I have had the pleasure of watching over and over through the years. Definatly a great buy!

There is nothing like peering into the DVD bin and finding a treasure for $3.99!! The Princess Bride is a timeless classic that all ages will enjoy, perfect for viewing at your summer cabin or in the basement on a rainy day.
