This film is currently ranked behind its Sequel (The Purge: Anarchy) because I have yet to watch Election Year. It's story is unique but pretty straight forward and has some entertaining moments. The main thing I don't like about it is that it's extremely racist, but so is the rest of the world, so what can you do. Check this one out, and definitely check out The Purge: Anarchy.

I like the concept of The Purge. It's definitely "out there". The first film resorts to being a semi-typical home invasion story, but it's told within that interesting concept of having all hell break loose for 12 hours each year. Worth seeing for its concept, plus I like the actors.

What if our Government made any crime legal one night each year?

I can't imagine living in a world where this kind of behavior would be tolerated and encouraged, it would be scary for sure, lol. I love horror movies and suspense, this movie definitely gets points for being different than most of what's going on in horror right now. I like how a guy who makes his living selling security at a high price learns the hard way he's the one really paying the high price when all his security measures are so easily destroyed by a simple act of mercy from his son. This movie kinda makes you think.

I enjoyed the movie. I found the premise conceptually interesting. The acting and storyline were good. The ending just kind of left me feeling unsatisfied. This is common w/ this genre as well as w/ many Sci-fi books. Ending them is very difficult. I will be interested in seeing the sequel.

Bought the camera because of the bigger zoom without the complications of a DSL. It's a nice looking and feeling camera. The zoom is better than anything I've had, but still sometimes lacks the real clean snapshot when used full out. Otherwise a 5. Price (on sale) was right also.

This is the film where it all started, the first purge, not to be confused with the fourth titled film in this series "The First Purge". This film centers around one family and their attempt to survive the first purge within their own home. This focus on the single family in their home may be one of the slower parts of this film franchise, but it is still a must watch in the series.

This was a good film. It was an enjoyable watch without making the viewer want more or feel like there were a whole lot of issues. It is a nice movie for any thrill seekers that can enjoy a film being good or great and not expect perfection.

Enjoyed the movie so much & understood it my kids also enjoyed the movie. It's was great that the Help at BEST BUY found it for me. It took a few min but it was well worth it. Now all my Kids would like to C the NEW ONE which is very nice when the whole family can enjoy watching a movie together . So when the New one comes out we will just go to BEST BUY. It's always nice to have help U find something U R looking for . THANK U BEST BUY

Cool artwork on the SteelBook. The discs look great themselves with video and audio in the highest quality possible. Includes a Blu-ray and a digital copy for streaming on-the-go. Highly recommended if you're a fan of the franchise!

Ordinarily, this would be a 2 Star "B" Movie at best, but the search into the nature of our humanity and how willingly we are turned against each other when tempted by others. We may be "civilized", but that does not mean we are always civil at heart.

The Purge on Blu-ray is an action packed, terror thrill ride that will make you think about what reality could be when the law shifts control to the people. Blu-ray extras include Ultraviolet and digital downloads, as well as a DVD copy for ultimate viewing convenience.

My wife and I wanted to see this. Found it on sale at best buy watched it and it was better than I expected fairly predictable but meh what movie isn't anymore. If you are looking for some blood and guts and something fairly creative I would check it out.

This is a good movie. You will find it to be extremely thought provoking about the things we overlook,and take for granted.As well as the capacity we have to do harm, and the lengths we will go too to protect our freedom and family

The Purge film re-released in steelbook. This trilogy horror series is so much better in the steelbook format. If you're a fan of the movies or just a collector of the format, I recommend this series ,

Overall I enjoyed this film. My only issue was with the writing for actor Max Burkholder. Every decision this kid makes will make you want to reach in your television. I think they had a good concept. It was entertaining. I'd watch it again.

This movie has a bit of a silly concept up on the top of the movie. the "even murder." part of the announcement always makes me roll my eyes, but once it gets into the meat of the movie, it is a great little survival film.

This movie invented a new concept which terrified audiences to the point where they had to make two sequels. This movie consists of people trying to break into a house and murder everyone in it. Scary stuff.

Imagine a future where all crime was legal for just one day a year. Would it help to control crime or not? This movie shows the beast inside humans when they get to purge their aggressions for one night.

This is a great movie for a quick decision and evening, it's short and to the point with a somewhat decent plot that isn't elaborate or try to extended past the walls of the home in which it takes place.
