Not quite as good as the first but enjoyable non the less.

I liked the first Purge movie but the second was a waste of my time and money. The movie was very predictable. The cast seemed to be reading a TelePrompTer. There was more action in this one but it takes more than action to make a good movie. Avoid this title at all costs.

This movie lacked a lot of qualities to it such as it just being an awesome storyline . it was dull and kind of boring.

I thought the first movie was ok. So I was hopeful that they'd get it right this time, but it still felt like it lacked.

This movies was not as exciting as the first one. The storyline was poor and I fell asleep several times trying to watch this boring movie.

I'll say what we all think - sequels are ,most of the time, decent/OK and VERY RARELY ever better than the first. There are some, such as Psycho II and How to Train Your Dragon II, but you can now add this one to that list. People who don't like this movie are those who think an incredible story with next-to-no action in it is best, but lets face it, every movie, no matter how good or bad, we like to see gunfire and fast cars and intense situations. For a sequel, Purge; Anarchy brings that and a (in my opinion, at least) better story to the table than it's predecessor and lots more action with the same amount of intense and suspense the first one had. Yes, there are some predictable moments, but only about 15% of those are recognizable, especially the ending; that WAS a shocker (won't say more, I promise) ;). Whether you are looking for a film to share with your friends or a bored night in, you can enjoy what this movie has to offer, considering the first and second only share purging, not characters, so it is independent. Hope you enjoy it, because I sure did.

i agree this is how i imagined the 1st Purge should have been made, Very much like the concept of the streets in Chaos with Purger's & Hired Hit squads roaming the streets eliminating the sub-class.the Best part is the 5 strangers who meet & have to survive together. I wished they would have showed more city chaos, or hopefully some sequels in cities like New York, Chicago, or Hollywood/LA with some post apocalyptic style chaos similar to Escape from New York. But this is definitely a movie worth watching, owning & by far the best version of the Purge." Its your Right to Purge".

This is how the purge is supposed to be. The idea of taking it out on the streets is crazy and interesting. The masked purgers were creepier than the first and there was actual purging going on. This film exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to buy it on BLURAY. Please announce a release date universal!!!

I really like the Purge Movies. Ans the second was is much better than the first. This one came out in 2014, a couple of years in front of the 2016 Presidential election. Talk about art as a window in our collective souls. Not just violence for violence sake, watch with some attention and listen to the language. Certainly not a perfect movie but the message is pretty clear.

I think this movie was very well written. It was dramatic and kept you on the edge of your seat. My husband and I both think it is even better than the first movie. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, the young girl was pretty annoying. Satisfying ending.
