First of all, this is a great movie. Nearly everyone loves it unless someone constantly getting beat down aggravates you. More importantly, this movie makes for a great reference movie for showcasing your 4K HDR TV and/or 7.1 surround system. Sound: Opening scene along the creek, sounds like you are in the creek... so good! Picture: Highlights and reflections are brighter, darks are deeper, and wider color gamut really brought out the richer deep greens and reds. The scene in the boat is a great example. On the bul-ray, you dont get the deep green rich tones as well and the red hair of the captain is not as prominent

this movie is probably a bit polarizing. some see it as boring, some see it as amazing. i am in the latter camp. not all movies need to be action and big explosions. that said, the cinematography and presentation is flat out gorgeous and is something to be appreciated. the story was great, again, not one of constant "action," but one of revenge, betrayal and survival. as for the blu ray itself, the picture is as crisp as one could want, and the sound is also top notch. it is a little disappointing that the extras are pretty thin, although there is a superb making of documentary that can also be seen online. that comes in at 44 minutes. all in all, this an entertaining movie, that looks at sounds fantastic. in my opinion, it is worth a purchase...but know what you are buying.

Tom Hardy is an excellent actor however his inability to handle the accent properly was a huge distraction to his talent.

You will enjoy this movie if you love movies about struggle. It’s a movie about a man Vs the untrained wilderness.

This is an impactful look and a past that is seldom scene in movies. Great performances all around and highly recommend

I think that it is odd that a movie of such magnitude and I didn't know what to expect. I was riveted from the word go.

Seriously, watch out for bears. Good movie, solid acting, lots of tension and drama along with beautiful scenery.

I own the Blu-Ray copy already and have been wanting to upgrade to the 4K version. Saw that The Revenant 4K was on sale so I had to get it. I am so happy I did, because the picture & sound quality compared to Blu-Ray is night and day. Probably depends on what kind of TV you are watching it on but on a LG CX this movie looks amazing. I love the story and movie already, so to see it look this good and sharp just makes me enjoy it even more. If you are fan of 4K and of this movie, The Revenant belongs in your 4K collection!

A must see if you own a 4K HDR tv! The story is also very well down. Some of the best cinematography you’ll see.

I loved this movie, I have almost all of Tom Hardy's and Leo's movies, so I was glad to see two of my favorite actors FINALLY in a movie together. The bear scene was pretty brutal and it's hard to see it's all in CGI, because of Leo's amazing acting. Hardy does a good job being the villain and the story is beautiful told. I honestly think Leo should have won the academy award for either Gangs of New York or The Aviator, but I'm just happy he finally won. In this movie he puts all his emotion and soul into the film, especially at the crazy weather the cast and crew had to endure throughout the process. Let's hope Leo keeps acting so we can keep being entertained by the stories he's in and watch some amazing performances in the future.

The Revenant is a beautifully crafted film that has been brought to life through wonderful cinematography. The settings put you in the middle of the action and gives realism to the story line. The fact that the director moved the location from N. America to S. America to create the vision he saw was a wonderful feat. The acting is real and you can easily relate to the story between the trappers and the Indians. The play between the violence and the beauty of that era is well portrayed. There is something in this story for everyone but each viewer should be prepared for the realism that is factually portrayed. I would recommend this movie to anyone who labels themselves a true fan of the movies.

he Revenant has been largely promoted as a revenge tale. However, it's more than just a revenge tale. It's a story about a father's love for his son, and his determination, through many intense hardships, to bring justice to his son's killer. It's not a happy tale, but it's still full of beauty. It certainly would not have had the same effect without the captivating performances of both Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy. I don't think this movie appeals to everyone. It's long, dark, and slow at times. If you want happy endings and continuous action, you may not enjoy the film. However, if you are a stickler for great acting, cinematography, and story telling, do yourself a favor and watch this movie.

Leonardo Dicaprio is my favorite actor of all time, so I am biased. This movie was worth the Oscar! After watching the behind the scenes, I learned that DiCaprio immersed himself so much that he ate an actual liver. This movie offers a rush that other movies don't have. Two movies I would compare this to (In terms of time and story ) is Last of the Mohicans and The Patriot. I was stunned almost every minute of this movie. All the actors, including Tom Hardy and Domhnall Gleeson just got there parts so right. If you haven't seen this movie, please, go watch this!

Good movie, if you have a 4K blue ray player you should get that version because it's usually on sale

Great movie. Beautiful in 4k HDR. Greys and whites are crisp and clear. I'd buy it again.
