this is one of the best movies i have seen in a really long time. the movie is two hours and about 36 minutes long. the cinematography is excellent. the movie draws you in from the start. i thought the acting was really good. Leonardio made me believe that going through those trials and tribulations were real. i felt his pain and suffering in the movie.the supporting cast was great. i watched this on a 60 inch tv and i thought the location and scenery out in the wilderness was excellent. i would watch this movie again to be visually entertained.

Excellent movie staring Leo. Great story and cinematography,

I saw this movie in the theaters and I had to buy it when it was released for home viewing. The Revenant is a beautiful looking movie with amazing cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki. The film is filled with amazing shots of the natural cold wilderness that'll take your breath away when watching on Blu-Ray and on a big screen. Also, great performances by the entire cast including standouts like Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy. Would defiantly recommend for any movie lover and fan of beautiful cinemaphotography.

Enjoyed the movie, wish hollywood tell more stories like it.

This movie was shot in 6.5k and 3.5k. The digital intermediary (DI) was done in 4k. The video, although creatively darker, is reference quality. The audio is Dolby True with excellent sound design. The rear speakers are in constant use. No Dolby Atmos track but the TrueHD track is excellent. If you calibrate your 4K setup to this disc, most of your others should look good. Remember to make sure any receiver you're using has HDMI 2.0a and upgrade to 18GB HDMI cables. Don't use your old high speed cables.

Another good film from Mr Dicaprio he doesn't dissapoint.

This is an excellent movie. I had seen it when it first came out. I read a review of the best DVDs out there in the 4K format and this was rated as the best one, so I bought this to test out a new TV. It really does look great in 4K. Some of the movie scenes are dark and gritty, but it is much better watching this with the incredible detail available in 4K with HDR. I can see why this picture won the academy awards for best picture and best actor. It was well-deserved! The bear attack scene alone is worth the price of the movie!

One of those ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT MOVIES! AWESOME!

DiCaprio is great and Iñárritu's directing is superb.

This was the most riveting movie and performance by Leonardo DeCaprio that I have seen in years. It keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire movie. The movie was well written and Leonardo played it to the ultimate. When you think he is at his at the end of his life he resurrects and takes the story into another dimension. I have to say that the attack by the bear is one of the most incredible most violent attack that I have ever seen. Don't miss this incredible journey of a man coming back to seek his revenge.

Lots of action little bit of Gore well a lot of it

This is such a well done movie. The characters created in this movie are well fleshed out and believable. When you watch this movie, it makes you think about how this country was founded and all the corruption and racism and cruelty that people faced; as well as the impact that we have had on the environment. I especially enjoyed the extras after seeing the movie to understand the director's and actors' points of view on the movie and how they felt about the topics brought up in the movie. Everyone should see this movie.

The Revenant may seem on its face to be a 19th century Death Wish, but the emotional depth of this piece, along with its truly astonishing cinematography, make this one of the most unique viewing experiences in recent memory. There's arguable over-length here, but that's probably the only quibble most folks will have with what is one of the most incredibly visceral presentations of man vs. nature (and man) the world of cinema has ever seen. Technical merits are virtually flawless, and The Revenant comes Highly recommended.

First of all, it's a beautiful movie. The shots they have of the American frontier from that time period is really gorgeous. There were a few points where I wondered how they pulled it off, even. It is really gritty and gruesome, however, but it's really well done. You're not going to come away from the movie with a "happy" or "pleasant" experience, but it is really an achievement. And you know what, props to Leo for finally winning that Oscar. Well deserved.

Good movie sounds really good with surround sound .

Revenant in 4k is a very beautiful movie. The forest and the imagery really shows with the 4k version. The hdr effect really makes a difference as well. The foliage is a more correct green, the dirt a realistic color and the time of day all come together to make this atmosphere that is rarely caught in cinema. If you just like movies I recommend this just for the scenery, but the story is one incredible ride. Even in regular blu ray i recommend, just an over-all movie I highly recommend.

Good survival/revenge story. Bear scene is brutal!

Since it was shot with native 4k resolution cameras, you can only expect the best experience when watching this movie. As a matter of fact, it is the only movie currently in the market shot in 4k. Any other ones are just upgraded from lower resolution masters. I got it for 12 bucks on sale. A very long movie. But you will be mesmerized by the quality. I watched it on my OLED 55 lg tv
