I found this movie hard to follow. When I have had this problem with other movies I go back and watch a second time and then I usually can follow and understand. This movie I didn't!

I was disappointed with this movie. After all the high ratings in the media, I expected better. The acting was ok and the action was great , but the story line was subpar.

Movie skips and freezes, something obviously wrong in the making of copies of this movie:(

Maybe I was expecting too much because of the Oscar award. Was not believable as presented. Only Arnold S. could heal his wounds without food in freezing conditions.

There was a lot of buzz about this movie all of which was good ahhh the acting was decent was the movie is long and boring I wouldn't buy but it not worth the money

This may be your cup of tea...not mine! Here's why; this lackluster truly phony survival/revenge movie is so completely unrealistic that it makes one want to turn it off mid-point. I've experienced military survival schools and what Di Caprio endures including a Grizzly mauling goes beyond the pale of anything approaching reality. I'd give it a zero if I could...a pure waste of money save you don't put much credence in the quality of a film for anything other than very poor entertainment.

A must buy if you enjoyed the HD version. Also should get newcomers on board.

If you like movies made purely to win awards this is for you. Overall the movie is okay, but it is just not very entertaining which is what I expect from a movie.

Great photography on location and the bear attack was epic. The overall movie however was spoiled by way too much social engineering and garbage.

This movie was okay, but not what I had expected, based on the popularity. Not bad by any means, just wasn't one I feel I need to watch again.

Good God, what a dragging, hideous, mind-numbing excuse for an acting job. Tom Hardy had a much juicier role, and actually ACTED during the film. He should have gotten the supporting actor Oscar. Leonardo must have trained for hours watching Jack Nicholson in The Shining, but at least Jack knows how to be more than one-dimensional with his craft. I am so sorry I actually BOUGHT this BluRay DVD. It's destined for a garage sale. OUCH.

The story is actually pretty good. There are some great scenes in this, but a bit slow and some scenes are played out way too long.

Long kind of, drawn out, very predictable, so if want you to see its a good price other than that may watch it one more time

Bought as my first 4k movie to watch, the picture was awesome, but the movie was boring, could lived without seeing it.

If you get this movie, fast forward to the bear scene and thats about all thats worth it.. Too long and drawn out.

Vicious bear attack. Shows the early pioneers at their ignorant worst. Couldn't wait for the movie to end.

For all of the hype around this movie, I neither found it very entertaining nor an outstanding performance.

I was not impressed with this movie. I have no idea why It garnered the all the praise at the Academy awards?

Definitely not award worthy and the one scene that could have made the movie felt overdone and dragged out.
