We thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Even though it is a rather long movie, the story line and realistic portrayal of the harsh pioneer life keeps you watching. The bear attack scene was jaw dropping.

I really liked this movie and understand the praise it has received. That said, at some point it's a bit like the Perils of Pauline...another impossible to escape situation that is once again escaped.

This movie was strange. I wasn't always sure where it was going. It was brutal and gory and heart-wrenching. There were so many twists and turns. I can see why Leo finally won his Oscar for this film.

Leo DiCaprio gives one of his best performances and the picture quality on 4k is outstanding!

Intense action, great storyline. You could feel the emotions. A bit graphic for younger children.
