This movie looks beautiful in any format but its a must have in 4k. Although its gritty and gory at times the shots are amazing. Most vendors i see showing 4k use this disc as a reference. There's a lot of dark scenes as well so this will really showcase the black level details on your tv

I have watched this movie several times: at the show; Blu-ray and in 4K; and it is still difficult to watch as well as a delight. There are bad guys and bad deeds (difficult part) but the movie feels so real and looks clear, takes me to another place in time. Highly recommended.

This is a remarkable and extraordinary film. It raises the filmmaking art to a different level. The direction, cinematography, editing, and sound are exceptional. From the astonishing opening sequence and throughout Inarritu's direction is fluid, surprising and alternately grand and intimate.

the film is visually stunning. The acting is top notch. the problem with me was that i had heard so much hype over this film that it became anti-climatic once i finally saw the film. Leo DiCaprio was extremely good, finally getting is long over due Oscar. But I think it wasnt his finest work.

Great movie, much drama and suspense with a phenomenal storyline. Acting was solid, scenes were very real and graphic. It is a lengthy movie but the interest to continue to watch was maintained as the action was suspenseful. I recommend this feature to any one that enjoys action and suspense.

Product provided what PRODUCER desired...you share the experience of the actor in the role OF people in the wild experiencing bad weather, bad people, and bad animals. This needs to be appreciated, and not watched with yackers or distractions, so as to get immersed.

The movie is kinda slow based on our action packed releases we have become so familiar with but there’s a storyline and a true will for survival that comes across. It’s also thought provoking and can provide a beautiful chance to discuss desperation, giving up or carrying on despite the most miserable conditions with others who have seen the film. And anything that makes us communicate more to understand the human condition is beautiful.

I had to have this movie. There was so much buzz about it. I found that the acting was very good and the scenery was spectacular. The scene with the bear, I had to watch from under the covers. Very Intense. I see why Leo won the Oscar. Blu-Ray disc price was nice. I plan to re-watch it soon.

I never thought it was possible for an actor to out do himself over and over again but that is what Leo does. He doesn't speak a lot throughout the movie but the pain and vengeance that he goes through just puts you right in his shoes and you feel everything his character feels just amazing.

My brother in law wanted me to watch this film....I put it off, thinking it was something i would not like. WOW I was wrong....i was on the edge of my seat thru the whole movie! The bear attack is awesome... NO spoiler alerts here! Buy the movie....you will not be sorry!

One of the truly best westerns of this century. An amazing story that Leo richly deserved his Best Oscar win for. Tom Hardy's turn was nothing short of spectacular as well. The cinematography alone makes this movie worth watching!

This movie makes me feel everything the main character is feeling & i believe this is what movies should connect us with, to feel & follow the characters journey as if you were part of it. Only a handful of directors can do this, just like Quentin Tarantino, Ridley Scott & Mel Gibson.

This movie is just beautiful from beginning to end. The cinematography is just awesome and breathtaking, it sucks you in. And you root for DiCaprio to get on his feet and finish his quest the entire movie. You feel his pain & his will to get revenge in your bones! Great movie, Gotta see it!

A truly top-notch film. An absolute must-own if you have a 4K player and TV. A few scenes are breathtaking visually, which make up for the few slow moments in the film. The bear attack scene was one of the most intense and frighteningly-real cinematic moments I've ever seen.

You'll be in awe watching this movie. Leonardo has always been a great actor but with this movie, you really will see his maturity as an actor. Be advised that this movie is not big on dialogue but the cinematography and adventure is what makes it Best Picture worthy. Highly recommended!!!

A very well done movie DeCaprio was great great as Hugh Glass a man mauled (convincingly by a CGI grizzly) and left for dead only to make his way back across the wildness in a quest for revenge. The supporting cast was well casted and acted over all one of the better movies in recent years

I bought this movie because it was a true 4k movie, not a remastered 4k like most. In addition, I did not see the movie when it was in the theater. I thought the movie was an incredible story of individual determination and would recommend it to anyone. As to the 4k qualities of the movie, there were some scenes where the 4k really shined, but it was not consistently apparent throughout the movie. I deducted one star because the first disk was defective.

Definitely a winner and a must have in your movie collection. The acting is wonderful and the 4k scenery is spectacular. The sound is absolutely fantastic! - for your information I am playing the movie through my 7.2.4 Denon receiver with Klipsch Reference Premier speakers.

Some of the best cinematography and one of the most beautifully shot films I've ever seen. DiCaprio and Hardy are spectacular! The only thing I could nitpick about the bluray is the absence of the behind the scenes on the bear scene, as it was one of my favorite scenes in the film.

Award studded film is surely one on Leo's all-time great performances, adeptly supported with superb casting, direction and cinematography. Although it's 'loosely' based on true events, the story is compelling and engrossing. More a 'tale of the west' than most Hollywood efforts.
