This is exactly the kind of film that 4K is made for; lots of detailed under- and above water footage of nature at it's best (and that includes Blake Lively). Try comparing it with the blu-ray and you'll see and hear the difference. Highly recommended to find out what 4K can do to your movie experience!

Pretty good horror flick with Blake Lively holding her own against an almost calculating villain. 2K upconvert to 4K still manages to impress with vivid colors and excellent detail, and a superb Atmos sound mix. One of the better 2K upconverts.

this movie is epic. a fight to the death for survival. its about a girl who goes surfing and runs into a killer sharks feeding path. of a hump back whale. it will have you rooting for the main character. have you at the edge of your seat cheering her on. you cant go wrong i give this movie a 9 out of 10

After getting a Super Ultimate High Def TV with HDR, I knew I had to have this film on 4K Blu-Ray. The movie is a fun popcorn monster movie, but the visuals are incredible. It looks amazing in HDR. Highly recommended for that reason alone.

The tension in this movie kept me glued to my seat from the very first moment. The feeling was similar to the time when I first watched "Jaws" back in 1976. Blake Lively was excellent in her role as a surfer who has to fight with all she has to survive. I highly recommend this movie.

Don't let the memory of Jaws 3 or Sharknado 3 steer you from this clever thriller. Having a shark is the ONLY connection to those other mindless films. This film was thoroughly chilling and tense, with a fresh take on the genre. I am sure you will never want to go to the beach alone after this film.

One of 2016's biggest surprises, The Shallows is a lean, mean, shark-fighting machine, and a blast to watch. The 4K transfer is wonderful, and for a seemingly silly shark movie, this has far better cinematography than you'd ever expect, and makes it worth the price of admission alone.

I missed this movie in the theater and did not want to pay full price for the Blu-Ray. So I waited a few month for the price to go down and it turned out to be a better movie than I thought. We enjoyed it and it was worse what we paid.

I really enjoyed this small thrilling production. The movie knows how to keep you on edge from pretty much the beginning of the movie. The concept is believable and so are the effects. The picture quality is outstanding and the sound encapsulating where it needs to be. Highly Recommended!!!!

Film did a good job of showing how resilient the human spirit to survive is when a woman is trapped on a tiny coral reef with a deadly shark nearby Film also keeps the suspense up and the story moving of what seems to be a thin plot.

Not since Jaws have I felt like staying out of the water. This movie had great suspense. Blake Lively sold the fear and desperation. You need to see this in 4K. It makes the waves and sunlight so real you think you are watching live TV.

I already have it on Blu-ray but I heard so many reviews about this movie on 4k and how good the upgrade would be,. Well I wasn't disappointed, the picture quality was really impressive and also the audio with Dolby Atmos

They do a pretty good job with this movie in my opinion. Yes, it isn't very believable that in today's age people would go to an isolated beach with no knowledge of the name and not tell anyone where they are going but it is a movie.

This movie was pretty good. The only thing is, she doesn't really go anywhere else. She just stays on the rock or around there. She eventually gets to the beach but it takes the entire movie for her to be saved.

For a low-budget, small cast and single film location. Everything really works and comes together here. It may mirror "Jaws" a bit but for a new generation. There are some very intense moments but the film makers made sure not to go overboard. And build the tension at a good pace.

The girl in the story put herself at risk which lead to her being in danger by making a lot of foolish choices, but once you get past that premise. The movie was actually good and I felt for the girl. I won't ruin the end except to say that it was the most unrealistic part of the movie.

I really enjoyed this movie. A new spin on an old theme. Some of the special effects were a little out there (but Blake in a bikini more than made up for them!) I will certainly watch it enough to make the purchase worth it.

There are not many shark movies that are worthwhile to watch but The Shallows definitely is! Jaws will always go down as the ultimate thriller for shark movies but this took a different take and was quite intense and interesting.

This movie was really good! Blake Lively did a really good job acting in this film. The movie started off slow but about 20 minutes into the film it started getting suspenseful and interesting. Overall I really liked this film!

I saw this in the theater and was surprised that it was actually good. The shark looks real for most of the scenes. The cinematography was done well. The story was good and Blake Lively proved that she is not just a pretty face!
