    I am a huge fan of The Thing and was waiting for the 4K release but in the end, do not waste your money. This is a very poor port and people saying that the picture is "fantastic!" has not watched many 4K movies. Heck, even John Carpenters They Live is so much better than this transfer, at least it has Dolby Atmos. The thing still has DTS the same old audio from the blu-ray version. If you have the blu-ray save your money, hopefully another re-release will come out sooner rather than later.

    Amazing film. Carpenter makes you feel the isolation and cold of the artic. His best film outside of Halloween.

    It is as good as you remember... looks better but still has some flaws you might expect in a movie from the 80's. Looks and sounds better than other versions
