Watched this one in theaters when I was a small child. I’m that sucker that buys every anniversary version as long as the resolution has improved. It’s difficult to pull this old school classic off in 4K and notice much difference. It was as well executed as they could pull off. Would recommend to any Transformer fan. The 80’s Transformers series is all that exist IMO. Everything else since has been mediocre. Buy this and the original animated series. Which I wish they would make into a 4K box set. That’s money waiting to be spent.

Since this is a very old movie and the content has been reviewed countless times, I'll stick to the relevant copy and its features. Being that this movie was originally made in full screen (4:3), I was pleased to know that the two versions were included. As far being "remastered" and color corrected, it seems they did a fair job, considering the medium (cells instead of digital prints). The colors are a bit more vibrant and not as washed out as my old DVD copy. I must say that I ended up watching the full screen version because, in order to make the feature widescreen, the top and/or bottom had to be cropped and that's unfortunate. Either way, I highly recommend this for anyone who hasn't seen it (kids?) and fans alike.

When I first heard of this movie coming out on Blu-ray, I knew I had to get it. I went to my local Best Buy and BAM there it is! The exclusive Steelbook Edition release! Now normally I don't care about steelbooks because of how pricey they are compared to regular releases of media, but wow in hand it looks and feels nice! The movie has been digitally restored and remastered to awesome levels, the bonus features are very entertaining and revealing from the words of the voice actors and artists/crew behind the scenes. I loved the inclusion of the original teaser trailers and theatrical trailers & tv spots! Seeing Ultra Magnus in his original color scheme threw me off lol but wow it is a must have for Transformers fans and nostalgia junkies alike!

Seriously, the 1986 Transformers movie is the only Transformers movie that matters. Not only does this movie nearly instantly throw you into some animated TF action, it effortlessly explains the story and delivers simple character development so that anyone can sit, watch, and enjoy without needing to spend hours of research on storylines and character origins. Additionally, this TF movie only has 2 human characters. Digital code will likely tell you it has expired, good chance it isn't. Also, downside, you will not be adding the digital copy to any of your preexisting digital collections like VuDu, it is only streamable through the specific provider.

This is a classic movie from the original Transformers television series from the 1980s. The transfer to Blu-Ray looks really great, and the audio came out sounding good as well. This movie has an amazing soundtrack that is a swell representation of 80s glam rock. It really helps to enhance the movie experience as a whole. The steelbook casing looks really keen. While this movie was designed to connect season 2 and season 3 of the original Transformers series, it is still a good stand alone film. Overall, I would recommend checking out this movie if you are a long time Transformers fan, or if you are looking to experience the original show in all its glory.

Fun for kids or children of the 80's to reminisce. Good intro to those who know only a little about transformers world
