Very upset with bestbuy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought seasons 1-6 and only season 1 hadn't been re-wrapped to be sold after being returned. There were finger prints on half the disc. And season 6 had 2 scratched disc so I traded in at a local store to only get another re-wrapped copy and it had a scratched disc, it wasn't horrible so I decided to keep it but will not be a return customer. If they are going to resale returns then they need to knock off a few bucks and label them "like new"

Season 3 rocks!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I rushed to BB this morning to pick up this set, and I have to say I am very pleased with the picture quality and sound. The special edition case has a nice touch to it, but I took off one star as I feel the fish tank cover and the way the zombies have been screwed on to the springs is cheap and flimsy. I wont deny that for a 100 bucks one should expect a little better quality. Nevertheless, I am very happy with it as it sits right on the opposite side of my season 2 special edition zombie head. When it comes to functionality, you have to unscrew the bottom of the case with a tiny Philips screwdriver where 4 AAA batteries (not included as well) are placed in order for you to light up your case. The on/off button is hidden where it says Season 3. You must press the number 3 with some force, and there you have it folks, your zombies will glow in the dark! Season 3 has 16 episodes, so you will get 5 discs, out of which the 5th one has the bonus features/extras. There were 1 or 2 episodes that I didn't really care for as I felt they wasted a lot of time in just boring, dare I say unecessary conversation, instead of getting down to the nitty gritty. Other then that, this season is fantastic and keeps you at the edge of your seat. An update, 8-31-2103. One thing I don't really like is that when you stop the blu ray and restart, it goes back to the beginning of the disc and doesn't start at the point you left off! I have noticed this on disc 1 since I haven't checked out the rest. That is annoying to me! What's up with that? On Season 1 & 2, it would take you back to the point where you had stopped watching and ask whether you wished to continue or not! Picture Quality 8/10 Sound Quality 10/10, gives your surround a very good work out, extremely pleased! Update: 9-1-2013. The second disc also goes back to the beginning should you stop it for any reason while watching. You will have to find where you stopped via your remote. I'm not sure why on earth they decided to do that, but it is what it is! Now, if you have the regular dvd's, it should begin where you left off.

TWD is the BEST!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Robert Kirkman sure did shake the industry with his excellent graphic novels and executing it perfectly to a TV show, make that two TV shows! I love how there's nothing tacky or phony about it, it feels so dark and serious which i love! 2 guns up for Robert Kirkman and pulling off the "infected/dead/zombie" genre, i hope it lasts as long as it can! When is the last time you cried during a zombie movie? Honestly, AMC's new series "The Walking Dead" (based upon the successful cultish graphic novel series) is, after Breaking Bad and Mad Men, their third show poised to be a remarkable and heavily awarded television series. Graphic in its gore content and violence, the pilot nonetheless presented a plausible and terrifying "end of the world" tale that is surprisingly personal with moments of great poignancy. The central character, Georgia Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes, is shot nearly fatally spending a long (unknown) amount of time lying in a coma, awakening from it and, barefoot and clad only in his hospital gown, stumbles through and emerges out of the hospital to discover a world devastated by some mysterious catylcismic event; a world nearly devoid of life. Once again a fairly unknown British actor takes the lead in an American television series, but having watched Andrew Lincoln as Rick in this series, I fully believe the guy was made for the role (or the other way 'round). For nearly 70 minutes, Lincoln's Rick is mostly on his own, but his face - a magnificent mirror registering every emotion from self doubt, fear, grief, utter despair but also the hope of finding his wife and boy. Lincoln's is a tremendous performance of made all the more remarkable considering the genre and thus a rare opportunity for subtlety and introspection. Rick's interactions with another father and son who capture, but ultimately rescue and aid his return to health, has a deep resonance in a world where men are considered stulted in understanding or expressing their emotions (a topic which is introduced nicely in the shows opening scene with Rick and fellow officer Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal). If you love zombies (and who doesn't?) this new series is a must see. I honestly was blown away after the premiere, powerfully moved and properly scared to death!

Season 3 Delivers Despite Some Missteps
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SHOW: Season 3 of The Walking Dead is, on the whole, the best season yet (that's available on Blu-ray, season 4 is even better). It steps up the pacing and allows the show to grow, stretching out of season 1 & 2's comfort zone to make for a fresher, better, faster, and more brutal show. Acting is perfect, the cast does a marvelous job of making the charater's interesting arcs seem completely natural. There are a few awkward bits, though: the earlier episodes try to hard to be ambiguous about a character that's very obviously evil, and it just ends up awkward and clunky. And it has the world's least climactic season finale ever, topped off the killing of a vital character for shock value and no other reason. Despite this, though, it is a really phenomenal show, some excellent television that I wholeheartedly recommend. VIDEO: Perfect transfer. Shot on a mix of digital and 16mm film, season 3 appears sharper and more vivid than previous seasons. Contrast is punchy, color is accurate, and detail is well-resolved. Grain structure is fine, untampered with and generally gorgeous. AUDIO: This Dolby TrueHD 7.1 track is absolutely lovely. Everything sounds incredibly natural, the rear speakers are constantly alive with Georgia's energetic ambiance, music and vocals are well-resolved, as are sound effects. Fidelity is excellent, and bass is perfect. A+ EXTRAS: Pretty plentiful and informative.

Best show on T.V. !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easily in the top ten shows to ever exist, Walking Dead is a must own on blu ray for veteran fans of the show and newcomers alike. Every aspect of this show is amazing. The acting and the story is as good as it gets. Video and audio reign supreme on the blu ray release. The soundtrack comes to life in a surround sound system. I'm usually not the biggest fan of Dolby, I'd rather have a DTS track. But there is not one complaint in the audio department. Video is also as good as it gets for a television series. The show is beyond exciting, and will give you a panic attack wondering what's coming next. This season does a lovely job of introducing new characters that are engaging. The acting is so well done, you absolutely hate some characters and love others due to the excellent performances. Now... the aquarium. Just so awesome! By far, my favorite out of all the limited editions. The zombie heads are extremely well made. They look real! It is the centerpiece of my blu ray collection. Truly a must own television series. If somehow you have never seen Walking Dead, doyourself a huge favor and go purchase all the seasons now. A true television masterpiece.

One of the best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How do you even begin to explain this series without it sounding like just another zombie fad? I love, love, love this series and the third season, for me, is when it all really kicks in. Somewhere along the line, you forget that it's another "end of the world" story and just dig in and enjoy the interactions between the characters. Who would ever have thought that Darryl would become what he has (no spoilers from me)? I love that the characters are flawed. Even better, everyone is real looking--by that, I mean that we don't have some former pageant queen trying to play an average character. I'm not saying that any of the actors aren't attractive, but they look like folks you'd meet in the streets and not some airbrushed, implant stuffed, brain-dead bimbo (or himbo).

A must for fans.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been patiently waiting for this edition since it was announced. I bought the season 2 collector edition blu ray package and said to my self, how would they out due the zombie head with the screwdriver. The display is very well made, and it looks great with the lights on and water in the tanks with the zombie heads. If you a fan and have a few bucks to spare, its worth it. Haven't watched all the special features, but there are quite a few of them.

Good zombie fun
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Season 3 makes up from the lack of zombies that was season 2. New characters and plot arcs make it entertaining to watch week to week without the let down of zombie attack action that was this season predecessor.

BEST HORROR PRODUCT IN THIRTY YEARS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Show seems different without Shane character, but scary horror, good storylines, and good acting, keeps show best horror product in thirty years on TV or in films. "Walking Dead" offers surprises in many episodes, as characters don't always behave as expected, and some die before expected, but everyone always seems to stay in character.

ANOTHER GREAT SEASON! (3rd)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This show came out of the gate AWESOME in season one and two and continues on very strong in Season 3. You will be hooked if you give it a chance. The characters are all believable and you will grow to love them quickly. Seasons 4 and 5 are super strong as well. I would put this at the TOP OF MY LIST for any TV viewing hands down!

A Slow Season, But It's Still A Great One
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first season was incredible for its short presentation. Second season was slow but good. This season goes a bit further. Still slow but good. With where the show is right now, it is worth enduring the trudge to Season 4 onward. I guarantee you...this show is one of the biggest and most highly watched on TV for good reason.
