This dose not work well as a remote control, had to set up and dose not work with the comcast box for my tv.

Unlike the Star Trek communicator this remote phaser was hard to program. There should have been generic list of codes for remotes to be added to phaser. It's too complicated and annoying. I personally did not like it.

Collectors will recognize this as THE best-ever phaser replica (it's better than replicas costing much more). It would be super-cool even as just a static prop, but this phaser can be programmed to control most any IR-remote device! Stun your TV! Fully Awesome! The only challenge comes in remembering which gestures you've programmed to each function, but who cares with a replica this nice? It's a joy just to hold in one's hand - and even the case it comes in is cool! BRAVO The Wand Company!

So, got this on a whim because I had a couple of coupons about to expire figuring it'd be a nice static for my collection. Since it was scanned from an original prop, it's pretty much spot-on dimension-wise. It's also made out of metal instead of cheap plastic so it's built to last. Nice case to store it in and it's actually a usable remote! Yes, it's a little limited since it doesn't have buttons, but it does work on all of my TVs for the basics, but I use it mainly for display. Sound effects are good as well with several to choose from. Would everyone buy one? Nope. But for the truly geeky it's a nice toy to have!

Quit working after first recharge. Although it was a very accurate model, don't buy it for a remote. Very hard to get it to function properly. Cool sound effects for the 2 weeks it lasted. Will be returned.
