Well firstly let me just say how lame it is that someone posted that Adam Sandler can't act? He's obviously one of the top actors in the comedy genre, along with Jim Carrey, Will ferrell , and obviously others. It's fun to explore a different generation and make fun of it, which is part of what the film makers of this movie were going for, and who can't love the old singing hip hop, that's just plain funny! Not only that but you have this whole love triangle thing going on as far as the story, which is zany of coarse, but the plot does hold through since my friend that likes to be idiotically cynical on his posts. (not literally my friend or someone I know of coarse) I will have to help him out. Adam Sandler used to be a successful 70's rocker, however he becomes washed up and is still with a girl he met from this time. This girl is the one he wants to marry and ends up proposing to her, she does not show, with hilarious results. (such as singing angrily as a drunken wedding singer and fighting.) The girl he meets before at a wedding (who works as a caterer-Drew Barrymore- Very hot in this movie btw) Is getting married to a guy she thinks she loves as well, hence they are both with the wrong people yet find each other eventually. The guy she is with cheats on her, doesn't care to marry her ect. Well during the movie he dates her friend and to simplify Drew and Adam grow closer and closer together. So this movie like many other romantic comedy's follows the three act structure, where actors are brought together, have a falling out and then are brought together in the end for one of those warm touching moments. So there is my little synopsis, I hope you enjoyed reading and I highly recommend this movie if you want a good laugh, it is silly and zany, but I think that's the best kind of comedy.

    Awesome movie, but lame version

The 5 star rating I've given this movie is well deserved. I've never been much of an Adam Sandler fan, but I still think this is one of the best movies I've ever seen which should give you some idea of how good it is. If you haven't seen this movie, you're missing a classic. The movie pokes fun at some cheesy 80's styles but frankly this movie could have been set in any era and been just as good because much like That 70's show, it's the underlying love story and humor which makes the movie so great, not the era it's set in. The soundtrack is one of the best ever, and this is one of the great love stories you'll ever see. The only negative I could mention is that this so-called special edition isn't all that special. It loses the full screen version which was available on the original dual format disk and to my knowledge theres only 1 new scene in this version and it was a bit flat in my opinion. So if you already have the regular version, I'd recommend skipping this version. If you don't have either version, I suppose you couldn't go wrong with either version but I personally find the original version to be perfect as was so I recommend the original version but to each their own. In any case, if you haven't seen this one, make a point to do so soon.

Mr. Sandler had a collections of movies in the 90s that was just a cult classic by all means and this movie was at the top of my list of being the funniest. You gotta love the whole way he revisited the 80s from the set design, lango, fashion and crazy hair. The only problem for me was not seeing that token jerry curl black couple doing the cabbage patch dance. Now thats 80s

This movie started Adam Sandler's decent into the mega-cheesy love-story movies he's been doing for a while now, but it's still great. Growing up in the '80's, it always brings back fond memories, especially the music, which I still enjoy. The supporting characters, as always, are a riot, and the plot is generally funny. Even the super-cheese airplane-guitar song stiff wasn't too bad, and I can still watch it after so many years and find new hilarious scenes. A great buy, plus now it's been released with DTS sound, which always enhances any movie! Cheers!

Fun movie & great sound, but disappointing extras

This is one of Adam Sandler's best films and the blu-ray is a must-own for any fans who have made the move to BD. What keeps this from being a five star review is the lack of extras on the disc. Instead of giving us the bonus features from the two previous DVD releases, the disc contains nothing but a feature on the Broadway adaptaion of the Wedding Singer. Still, this is a great film that has never looked or sounded better on home video, and can now be found at bargain prices. Recommended.

    Great Romantic Comedy!

Basically anything Adam Sandler touches turns to gold, and that is definitely the case in this romantic comedy. Drew Barrymore portrays such an innocent sweet girl that everyone wants to take home to their parents and Adam Sandler is the hilarious cynical bum musician. Together these actors make great chemistry! would recommend for anyone to own

I'm stuck in the 80's and this was one of the greatest movies and music of that decade. I sometimes play the movie just to hear the music, and yes I do own the 2 CD's that came out and even better.
