Havent seen this one yet. Cant really give an honest review. But i feel like it would probably address Miyazaki's repeated themes of flying, children, flying children, and probably a message about man's relationship with nature. 3 stars! (Probably?)

This story was very touching! One of the best anime.

Great movie that is very typical of Hayao Miyazaki.

It was a good movie. I would recommend it to others.

This movie was ok. In my opinion the weakest of all Miyazki's films. It's pretty boring and the movie kinda drags. The thing I do like is the animation. I hope Miyazaki comes out with another film because it'd be a shame if he retired on this note.

Its one of the best anime movie that I seen so far.

My daughter got this movie to add to her Miyazaki movie collection. She liked it overall, but did think the story moved along too slowly.

You don't HAVE to watch it it's not one if those movies. It's not atmospheric either. It's a pass for me. If your interested in it then watch it.

Good but not great not really my cup of tea just something for the ghibli collection

Was fascinated by the teamwork or Japan, Italy, and Germany. Let's you see what they went thru to build planes and how love endures all.

The movie is beautiful, but the story is lacking by american standards. I love Miazaki but this is no Howls Moving castle.

I was hoping for more fantasy but got more of a realistic movie

Purchased due to boredom and was surprisingly entertained.

i usually like almost all the movies produced by this studio but this movie i have nothing good to recomm about it sorry

The description for this one is pretty spot on. Was kind of disappointed that none of the prior 31 reviews really said much more than 2-3 sentences on the movie and most just focus on it being from Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. This one was a 2013 Academy Award nominee, but it should have won. Doubt we'll ever see an anime-title win besides Spirited Away which is such a shame as it's hard to argue that American films have better stories. The Wind Rises is a movie about the life of Jiro; and it covers his life in most of its entirety from his dreams of flying as a kid to going through the great Kanto earthquake, falling in love, and building the plane of his dreams. The story covers a LOT and moves at a break-neck speed. But, though-out it all, I never felt that it was rushed. With the backdrop of Japan jumping into World War II with Germany, there's an ominous air at times, but the movie doesn't let that take hold as Jiro's dream is at the forefront. While The Wind Rises might not end on the note that most would want, it is what it is. It played out perfectly in my mind. The Wind Rises has become my favorite Ghibli film to date!

Fans of Hayao Miyazaki & Studio Ghibli movies will definitely want this in their collection since this was Miyazaki's final directed anime film! It's about a Japanese aeronautical engineer (someone who designs planes) and the woman he loves during World War II. My brother and I saw this in the theater, and loved it! :)

Although slow at times, it is a wonderful story that is positive and inspiring. Seeing this in theaters some of the sound effects and music were not quite balanced correctly for it's theatrical release, however on blu ray in the home this seemed to be corrected.

This was one of the cutest movies ever. It was very inspiring for our whole family. Studio GHIBLI did it agian.

Like all of Miyazaki's films this movie has some great animation and a great, touching, story.

Another masterpiece by Miyazaki. This movie will bring you through every emotion possible.
