This movie is a bit of a slow burn but well worth the wait if you stick with it .its not your typical blumhouse cheap scares every other minute, well acted,well directed .

The Witch is one of those films that stays with you well after the first viewing. It is a deftly paced, beautifully shot film with superb acting and cinematography that leaves you spellbound. The mere fact that every spoken line is authentically delivered as English was spoken in the 1600s goes to further transport you to a time of darkness and witchcraft that is not entirely as you think...

Not your typical satanic movie by any means. Kept you guessing as to were the evil actually existed. Anything more would give away the plot.

Bought this for the wife as she usually likes borrow movies. This was decent but overall not incredibly scary. Good to watch once but not rewatch worthy.

REVIEW OF: The VVitch (Blu-Ray + digital HD) [ WHAT IS GOOD ] - Entertaining - Suspensful - Has a few scenes depicting blood / gore. - Has a decent/good plot. ABOUT: The film's plot focuses upon characters living back in time where the film itself depicts a New England family from the 1630's being torn apart (literally and figuratively) by the forces of witchcraft, black magic and possession.

This is a great movie in spite of the naysayers. I love that it's NOT a typical jump-scare. Slow burn horror like this stays with you and that's always better.

Aside from all the haters of this movie for not being just another jump-scare garbage flick. This is an excellent return to what real horror is supposed to be.

I really enjoyed this film. It was beautifully shot and i loved that it was just as much about family resentments as the supernatural goings on around the family.

It's a slow burn, atmospheric tale about puritanism, familial meltdown, and a fall from grace. With witches. It aims for a classical austerity and hits the mark.

Such a great horror movie! If you’re not a fan of slow burn movies, this movie isn’t for you. If you like atmospheric movies that don’t rely on jump scares, this is the movie for you! It has a creepy, dark vibe throughout the movie and the ending is great! Totally love this movie!

I didn't think I'd really enjoy this movie, but I was wrong. It was beautifully made and I never would have guessed how the ending would turn out. Worth the buy

This is a good movie that you need to pay attention to or you may get lost in the plot. A little on the slow side in the beginning but moves along after that.

I enjoyed this movie, filming was done in a way to make it feel very old world. Story was good and the gore fairly tame. think they wanted a younger audience.

Not sure what to really say, the movie is quite different, but very intense and if you're into the Salem witchcraft I think you'll like it

Was hoping it would be on 4k but for $5 it was a must have horror film. Slow build, wild pay off.

Good movie, unreal depiction of witchcraft having to do with evil or being satanic. Supports a bad image witches already have with society unfortunately.

My current favorite horror film. An instant cult classic. Best horror film of 2016, possibly the past decade or more. It is a plot of subtlety, suspense, with a focus on the maddening world of religious zealotry. They used authentic old english spoken in 1600's New England. The story itself is a folk tale taken from various journals and literature of the time period. Great movie.

While not as amazing as advance reviews would suggest, The Witch is a slow burn horror film. Old school horror fans will no doubt dig it. Recommended.

This movie was okay. Could have been better. Was a different time era, but had a good twist.

Mivie was good and scary story line really grab you and didn't let good me and wifey enjoyed it
