Great classic movie as the original wolf man in great clarity.

Universal’s Classic Monsters on UHD are all fantastic, but The Wolf Man is a personal favorite, and the 4K upgrade is phenomenal. I recommend the 2 different box sets if you want all the UHDs available so far, but the steelbooks are a nice treat (especially on sale). The package includes a 4K UHD, a blu-ray disc, and a digital code that redeems a 4K copy of the film at most digital platforms.

The Wolfman starring Lon Chaney Jr., is a classic Universal Monsters movie. Lawrence Talbot returns home to his family’s estate to mourn the death of his brother and to mend his relationship with his estranged father, Sir John Talbot. During a festival, Larry is bitten by Bella Lugosi’ s werewolf and also becomes the wolfman. I’m sure fans of this genre know the rest so I’ll just move on to the technical aspects of this 4K releases. This release is by far the best the movie has looked. Matter of fact, the picture is stunning for a movie this old. The audio is also the original soundtrack but it too sounds brand new and awesome. This anniversary release does not disappoint and the steelbook is fantastic. MUST BUY! 5 stars.

This movie is timeless. I've never been a huge fan of classic movies traditionally, but after watching the restored versions of Wolfman, Dracula and Frankenstein I've really reevaluated my stance. The improved resolution and audio quality breathe new life back into these old classics. Beautiful restoration of a fantastic film. Great acting, great quality, and fun cover art. I would definitely recommend adding this steelbook to your collection.

Besides the iconic nature of the film itself (much of the modern werewolf mythology got started here), the film also adds a unique psychological twist to the story. Is he really turning into a monster every night, or is all this happening in his mind? With an important cameo by Claude Rains as Larry's father, "The Wolf Man" has earned it's place it the classic horror pantheon.

The Wolf Man represents another leap forward in the evolution of the classic Universal horror canon. It isn't as essential as some of the studio's earlier efforts, as ahead of its time as The Bride of Frankenstein, or as strong when it comes to the creature makeup and effects (The Mummy and The Invisible Man being the respective highlights in the collection). But as one of Universal's Big Three Horror Icons -- the other two being Dracula and Frankenstein -- it still delivers, thanks especially to Lon Chaney, Jr.'s performance. The Blu-ray edition delivers too, with a commendable restoration and video transfer, a capable DTS-HD Master Audio Mono mix and a solid selection of special features (even if one documentary is a carryover from The Mummy disc). The Essentials Collection is worth the price of admission from almost every angle, but if you choose to wait for individual releases, you won't have to worry when it comes to The Wolf Man.

I found the combination of the reused Legacy artwork and the steelbook format really make the artwork stand out much better than before. I was really pleased with how this looked when I got it in hand and I hope the release similar steelbooks for the next volume of Universal Monster movies

I had to order this movie online because stores don't carry this classic movie. The look of my old DVD was soft and grayish,so I upgraded and I am glad I did. The 4k picture is sharp( you can see strands of hair ) and the black areas are deep and rich and clear. The fog and the forest looks great. The best I have ever seen this film.

CLASSIC ! this is truly one of the best Wolfman movies out there. If you haven’t watched what what are you waiting for? You need to add this movie to your collection.

This was my first ever steel case and the case was slightly bent on the back side nothing major but i guess that's a common issue when ordering online. The movie is great and i like the artwork. Black and white colors pop in this movie definitely a must have!

Absolutely gorgeous imagery on outside covers as well as inside. Great menus with tons of special features. I owned this on VHS, DVD, Blu ray and this 4K is stunning. If you are a fan of the classic Universal Studios monsters...get this!! Also recommend Dracula & Frankenstein *****5 Stars

The Wolf Man was always my favorite Universal Monster and it looks absolutely stunning in 4K! Amazing restoration!

How great it was to find this famous old black/white all time Wolf Man movie.

This steelbook might not have a bunch of fancy art, but they still look great. The 4k transfers looks amazing too. I’d definitely recommend picking up a copy.

Hard to believe a film this old can look this good. You would've never guessed this movie was 80 years old after having seen the UHD. Fantastic looking steel book as well. No regrets here.
