The only reason I got the movie is because the photo it's showing the Blu-ray with a slipcover collectors Edition ..I got the Blu-ray with no slipcover case ...

Don't waste your money. Haven't even finished watching it yet. It's hard given it's so bad.

I caught this movie once late at night, while flicking through channels. And it caught my attention immediately! Since then, i've probably watched it 15 times! it's one of the greatest films i've seen. sure it's no oscar winner or anything, but the bottom line when it comes to movies? was it entertaining? was it memorable to you? in my case, this movie was incredible!

20 years ago this classic came out. Has it been that long already? On that note, do not expect any special features to the DVD. I call "They Live" a fun movie, if not a forgotten one. Not the greatest acting in the world, top-notch dialog or bombarded with special effects, but what it lacks the movie makes up with a good story foundation and plot. Aliens living among us and controlling our lives and the only way to see them is by wearing special sunglasses. What makes the movie memorable is a five minute fight scene between Nada (Roddy Piper) and Frank (Keith David, Men at Work) just to wear those special sunglasses. Other than that there is really nothing horribly graphic or terrifying about the movie - just aliens and a few people getting shot. At least by today's standards. Being a 20 year old movie you would think there could possibly be a director's cut or something, but that would possibly extend that fight scene to 7+ minutes. The Sunglasses Edition? "They Live" is a decent addition to almost any DVD collection.

they live is another one of john carpenter classic films this film is good from start to finish and it has some of the best one liners i seen in movies and again to bad this did not do well at the box office bc like his other films it was left open at the end for a sequel but again it did not do well enough to get one all i can say it is another classic bc it is good from start to finish and the blu-ray is well worth owning bc it looks and sounds good and it has extras on it to so if you are a fan than i would check it out

Sorry, but I have to say that if this movie had better acting, it woud have taken away from what the director intended this to be: A campy, cheesy glimpse into how an alien invasion COULD have been. The fight scene IS epic, and the actors actually WERE hitting each other, which is why it's so good.

Love the movie, came in great brand new condition. The delivery time exceeded my expectations. Will be using Best Buy again in the future.

This is not one of John Carpenter's best by a long shot, but worth watching. I'm a huge movie collector and a fan of John Carpenter's. I have almost all of his movies. This one, believe it or not, I never got around to watching until recently. My wife and I thought it was ok. The plots original, but the acting and special effects were poor. After making The Thing in '82, I questioned why the special effects were so poor in an '88 film. I know he can do better, I would've thought this movie came out in the '60s or '70s. I found myself double checking the DVD case to see when it came out. And as much as I liked seeing Roddy Piper in a movie, he's not the best actor. I did, however, enjoy the epic fight scene I'd heard people talk about. If you don't know, there's a South Park episode where Timmy and Jimmy go at it. This fight scene was choreographed identically with the fight scene between Roddy Piper and Keith David. That was fun to watch, (you should check it out!) The movie itself was rather cheesy and more of a comedy than a horror, sort of like Big Trouble in Little China, also by John Carpenter, (which I thought was better). Like I said this isn't one his best films, but worth watching. I'll also recommend some of my personal J.C. favorites; The Thing, Cigarette Burns, Prince of Darkness, and In the Mouth of Madness. This is a great format and I would highly recommend.

This was actually a very good action sci-fi movie. Rowdy Roddy Piper stars in this movie and actually does a very good job in it. This movie has one of the best street fight scenes in a movie. It seems too last about 5 minutes. This movie is well worth buying.

A must see for any horror/sci fi fan.Not the best movie ever made, but it will definitely make you laugh and take a second look at billboards for a while

I love this movie but i am disappointed in the fact it is only in 2.0 sound With technology today you would think they would really get a bit more sound added to it. But other than that love Roddy Piper

kinda slow start to this movie, but very original story line, and enough one liner jokes to keep you entertained. Not academy award worthy, but great film for you and some friends to enjoy. Thanks John Carpenter.
