Was This Supposed To Be A Comedy?

It seems the movie was forcing jokes to the point it seemed like a spoof of superhero movies. Ragnarok is the end, the apocalypse on Asgard. Clowning around made no sense to me when this should have been the darkest entry in the MCU. The movie had it’s moments and if I ignore the jokes, I can enjoy this movie.
