Bought for grandkids. They really like the marvel series

One of the better marvel movies, a little under rated

I bought it to complete my marvel movie collection

I'm new to the Marvel films, only just becoming interested in them this year (and likely because of the influence of my friends). I saw both the Avengers and Avengers: Rise of Ultron in the same weekend, but I ultimately fell in love with Thor. I really enjoyed this movie - it had a great balance of action and humor (considering the drunken attempts to lift Thor's Hammer in Rise of Ultron, I figured this movie had to have some humor to it). And then there's Chris Hemsworth...and that's all you need to know. I basically bought this movie sight unseen, and I was not disappointed.

Great comedy from the Asgardian. Loved the origin.

We know the movie and if you are a fan you'll enjoy this specialty item with its neat metal case. It carries the usual fair of 4k, Blu-ray and digital copy. The 4k is slightly better than the blu-ray which is nicely produced and both are a win but I prefer the 4k for the viewing and audio experience. The digital copy is UHD and holds up surprisingly well as a streamed movie. If you too find this item on sale (same price as regular 4k disc) it would be a good buy and certainly a nice gift. I should say I tend to favour the first movie of some of these heroes. - Thor, Captain America and Iron Man. The back story is often as if not more entertaining that the sequels.

Marvel is great but the first 2 Thor movies are meh

I liked this movie best of all the Marvel Thor movies. It is a simple story of a hubristic young man losing his powers and learning the meaning of duty/responsibility/etc., but it works on its own terms. Since a large chunk of the movie cannot revolve around CGI-laden super-fights, it has to worry about "unnecessary" stuff like characterization, social conflict, etc. It has just enough of the "fun" stuff to be exciting without overstaying its welcome.

Some loss of the natural film grain and not really much increase in detail over the blu ray release however, there is noticable improvement to the color thanks to the much needed expanded HDR color range. Definitely worth a pickup at the right price especially if you don't own the blu ray already.

This movie is one of my favorite of all time. I really enjoy the mysticism of this movie. I also appreciate the wholesomeness of it. The characters are personable, and the visuals are definitely on point. Not sure how a fan of the comics would feel towards this movie though, because i personally never read them. Personally I felt this movie/characters presented itself better than the comics, because I had been into the X-Men comics, but never cared for Thor. The movie on the other hand was extremely entertaining.

I'm going to focus primarily on the 3D aspect of the movie since the movie is good and has been reviewed elsewhere. My short review of the movie is that it's very well done though it feels like it has a bit of a split personality. The scenes on Asgard feel like they're trying to be Shakespeare while the scenes on earth have more of an action film feel. The makes sense since Kenneth Branagh directed it, part of the reason why I think the movie is very good. The 3D is very well done in the movie. The scenes on their own are breathtaking when watching the film, but the 3D really enhances the experience. That can't be said of all 3D movies, but in this case, it really does help Asgard and the distant realms feel really special. If you have a 3D tv and you're debating whether to get this 3D movie for your collection, I highly recommend it.

Originally saw this at the movie theater. Later saw Infinity Wars and Endgame. Amazing how much more sense the entire Marvel Universe makes when going back and seeing Thor, The Avengers, and again seeing Infinity Wars and Endgame. SteelBook case is really nice addition to my DVD Collection. I didn't recall the whole Thor story line, while I am glad I purchased this movie so as to fill-in all of those missing gaps.

I bought the DVD for my five year old son, and I'm glad I did. I saw the movie in the theatre, and while I enjoyed it, I thought it was a little hokey, and Hemsworth's accent seemed very fake. It wasn't my favorite Marvel movie of Phase 1, for sure. However, after watching it again with my son, I appreciated it much more than the first time. It helped that I was already familiar with these characters after seeing them in three other movies, but I also paid more attention to Branagh's direction - I've been a fan of his since his early Shakespearean movies, and this definitely harkened back to those films, and it gave me a deeper appreciation for the film. Hemsworth's accent still sucks, tho, and I'm not sure I buy the chemistry between him and Portman. But it's still a fun ride.
