If this movie were it's own movie it might be better, but as it is because it's a sequel it gets automatically compared to the first Thor movie, and in that regard it's not as good. The action, and acting and effects are all as good as the first, but the story is a little bit weak. So if you're buying this for the story you're buying the wrong movie, if you're buying this to watch stuff blow up, you might enjoy it quite a bit. It all depends on your expectations. I happen to like explosions in my movies about explosions, so from that regard I generally approve of this movie.

I think that Disney is getting it in terms of customers who want to purchase blurry pkua digital. Guardians of the galaxy 2 is a good example of that where digital versions accompany a blu ray or 4K version. Unlike most of the distributors, Disney was behind in embracing this early while most were already offering bluray, DVD plus digital. Some of the earlier marvel properties like captain America and iron man deserve a re treatment.

A very strong follow up to the first Thor movie. The Dark World is obviously, darker, but still has the moments of levity you expect from Marvel. Loki is back as the only interesting villain in the MCU. The action is heightened and a new infiniti stone is revealed. Despite the infiniti stone introduction Thor 2 offers little in the continuation of the MCU. You can totally bypass this and still enjoy Age of Ultron. I would recommend seeing it though, Marvel is great.

The Avengers franchise has been excellent so far, and The Dark World continues to do so. This is a good story to bring Thor back to Midgaurd and reunite Thor with Jane Foster. Loki is a star character as he was in the first Thor movie and in the Avengers. Lots of action with a bit of humor thrown in here and there. My one "complaint" is not really a criticism of the movie.... But I'm a fan of the Warriors Three (Fandral, Volstagg and Hogun) and would like to see more of thes guys.

This blu-ray is a high quality product. The bonus features are adequate, but not fantastic. The film is as good as the first one of which I am a fan. I'm also a super hero geek so my review is definitely biased. I think Marvel is doing a commendable job with all of their movies so far. They are the first company to produce a cinematic universe on par with their comic book universe. Bringing these comic book stories to life is no small feat and I am excited to see what comes next.

I just recently had bought a 4K 3D tv about 4 months ago. I've gone a bit obsessed collecting 3D movies now. My copy did not come with a sleeve for the case, but aside from that the movie was great! The 3D effects were amazing starting from the menu to the very end of the movie. The 3D did not make me sick and were very crisp (maybe that had to do with the TV upscale). Highly recommend for the Marvel fan that wants to collect the 3D versions of Marvel movies.

If you enjoyed The Avengers, Thor, Iron Man, or Captain America, you already know about this movie and have seen it. You are like I am, purchasing the Blu-Ray to re-watch this film in the comfort of your own home without the sticky floors, $7 small beverage, and trash bag full of popcorn. To you I say, "Excelsior." While I cannot recreate the IMAX experience in my house at this time (though not for lack of trying) this will do in its stead. Looking forward to the next Avengers!

Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman do a great job when they act together. Have great chemistry and they bring a lot of good qualities to Thor dark World. The story and Thor dark World is not bad the action is pretty well done CGI effects are very well done. There just seems to be a little bit missing in the movie. If it was possible to give it three and a half Stars I would but it is better than three stars. If your a Marvel fan like I am this is a must-have for the collection.

No surprises as I saw this in the theaters. The Blu-ray is on par with other releases. I suspect there will be future releases with more extras (for a price) as there tends to be. The movie is fun and the banter between Thor and Loki is some of the best material. The gag reel is decent but there is actually more online than on this disc. There is no doubt that this has solidified the phenomenon that is the Hiddlestoners. Yes, the fans of the Loki actor actually have a name.

This movie is what fans have come to expect from Marvel. Lots of action and things blowing up. A nice mix of humor and adrenaline. Thor is back on Earth as he reunites with Jane Foster and attempts to save mankind from an ancient evil that threatens the entire universe. The 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack comes with the DVD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, and a digital copy of the film for watching on computers, tablets, or smart phones. There are lots of cool extras including a brand new Marvel One-Shot short film, and an exclusive trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The movie overall was very entertaining. A good sequel to Thor, plenty of action, great special f/x, and another great film in the Marvel comic book adaptations that contains very interesting foreshadowing of things to come (won't post any spoilers here). My main issue though is with the release put out by Best Buy and/or the studio. It seems they're cutting back on blu-rays by not including a digital copy or DVD, but still charging $20. Without these extras, charge less, as I now have no way to burn a copy to playback on my iPad or computer when on the road.

Glad I was first in line at my Best Buy, otherwise I never would have been able to get the steel book version. Sold out in about 5-10 minutes. Movie is great, maybe even better than the first, but at least equally good. Surprised the manufacturer, I assume it's them, did not make this the usual Blu 3D/Blu 2D/Dvd/Digital Copy combo pack. Instead, you get the 3D & 2D Blu rays and the Digi-copy. Yet there are 3 spindles inside the box, so maybe a cheap DVD later to complete the package. So the 5 rating for 'DVD Extras' is based on the Blu Ray extras of course :P

The movie itself is great but it just seems to be so dark that you can't really see some scenes. Overall no one can portray Thor like Chris Hemsworth.

I'm always on the fence with these Marvel movies but I took a leap of faith because I actually enjoyed The Avengers....so I bought this movie and the original Thor movie. I am so glad I went for it !!!!! These movies were so good. I liked Thor very much, but it was Loki who kept my interest throughout the story. The brother and family dynamic in these movies kept me waiting to see what was going to happen next and this movie didn't disappoint. Great action movie !!!!

The second Thor didn't add much to the Marvel Universe. The brothers had their fight about their father's love. The movie is decent in 4k.

The story is okay with good acting. Would still watch to get the overall idea of who Thor is and what he becomes later in the other marvel movies.

Thor 2 is a great movie that leads into the rest of the Marvel stage two films. The special effects, CGI, and camera work are all amazing. Great scenes throughout. The film is action packed with just the right amount of humor making it a movie for all ages. For the hardcore fans, you get too see more of the minor characters of Asgard ( the warriors three, Sif, Odin, and his wife) as well as a key character introduced in the mid credits in typical marvel tradition, although I won't spoil it in this review. Thor 2 is great for fans and non fans alike.

Did not get to watch this movie in theaters so I opted to buy it. I was pretty excited because it was 3D blue ray, blue ray, and digital copy. However, when I took it out the bag at home I felt slight movement of the CD. I proceeded to open it and just as I suspected the 3D CD was off and almost fell to the floor when I opened it. It had small scratches due to it not being secured in the case. However, because I got 2 cd's and a digital copy for a great deal it didn't bother me too much.

I Like this Movie and I like it better then Iron man 3 and Hope Cpt America Part 2 is good as well .. but it follows after the Avengers movie and if you have not seen that then see other marvel hero movies and then avengers then iron man 3 and then thor part 2.. Loki steals the movie and he does a great job and u may hate him but u got to lov him LOL.. I would pick it up for the fact good action and good humor but story could have been little better.. i give it a high 3 to almost 4 out of 5 stars.. Person who plays thor is very good as Thor...

This movie was a great follow-up to the first installment. Chris Hemsworth IS Thor, and the great acting from Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleson, Idris Elba, etc. make the world of Asgard feel real. The story is fun and humorous at times, and elevates the franchise to the next level. The only downfall I can think of is that the character of Malekith could have been better. Blu ray gives amazing picture and sound. Great purchase for anyone!
