This is a great follow-up to the original Thor movie. Thor: The Dark World takes place after Thor and after the first Avengers movie (you don't have to watch Avengers before seeing this one-I didn't). Without giving too much away, here's the basic plot: Jane gets possessed by an ancient power, and it's up to Thor to save her, and Earth and Asgard, from ancient evil forces. This movie is as good as, if not better, than the first film.

But it’s still a good part of the overall storyline. Like the first Thor, this movie is too concerned with the character being too serious.

Although this is a sequel, it is the third movie in the current "Thor" franchise. It follows the film series quite well, as character development spans all three movies. Focusing mostly upon the earthling cast, the Asgard supporting characters (aside from Frigga, Heimdall, & Odin) seem to just be "there", almost as-if extras with lines. The possible conflict between Foster and Sif is introduced, then dropped as suddenly. The ending leaves an open plot twist which will continue into another movie; not necessarily "Thor 3" though.

I've been waiting for this to come out the moment I left the theaters. Good, entertaining movie! Gotta love Loki! haha But what was even better was the bonus features. Marvel's been doing the "Marvel One Shot" short film as a bonus feature, and this one was funny. I like how they tried to make up for what the fans were complaining in XXXX XXX 3 (<- Trying to spoil anything for people that don't know yet ;) ) Looking forward to the next one!

Thor: The Dark World movie is a great sequel to the original Thor movie. This movie was creative in finding a way to bring Thor back to earth and after 2 years, re-unite him with his old flame. More importantly, Thor also saved her from the danger that obscessed her and from their enemies. I hope Thor III is just as creative and incorporates a little Thor Jr. and his twin, little Aprodite. Who knows, maybe triplets with a little Loki?/jcf

Great film that is a lot of fun to watch. I love the action and my girlfriend loves Thor. It is a win win for both of us. This is the 3rd time that Thor has been in a movie, and it deals with the aftermath of his trip to Earth to stop Loki from the Avengers movie. There is an ancient race of something that Thor has to stop from destroying everything, and he needs Loki's help to do it. Quite an imaginative plot, wouldn't you agree????????

This is a better film than the first which is saying something as I love the first . Marvel has got its continuity down and its quality up . Even the extra short film (continued from Iron Man 3) sets up a story we will probably see in Iron Man 4 or possible Doctor Strange film . Glad Best Buy is getting steelbooks so I do not have to import as much .

Thor TDW is probably the worst received of all Marvel movies. It has some puzzling choices but still gathers some of the more critical character developments for the mightiest avenger. It's an odd fit, matching style with neither the predecessor or sequel Thor movie but that is part of its charm. It's a must have for MCU completionists and this steelbook 4k is the best option on the market for collectors.

As a fan of all of the Marvel movies, I not only wanted the 4k blu-ray version and digital copy, I needed this beautiful steelbook case. The quality is great. Most people would say that this is their least favorite Thor movie, but I still enjoy the family dynamics and insight into Thor's personality development.

The movie has some great special effects with the hero flying in and saving Asgard and Sif. Though why he doesn't have a relationship with Sif is unknown. Definitely, want to see more of Sif in action, fighting beside Thor with his troupe of minor gods. The villains had great technology, would like to see them have dark elf swords, bow like weapons instead of blasters. Overall, an entertaining movie.

It's a marvel movie so you know it rocks. Phase 2 is looking to be even better than phase 1. This pack is nice, has ultraviolet and blu-ray in 3d and 2d. It has everything, right? Wait what? Where's the DVD? Unfortunately, they didn't make a blu-ray/DVD combo pack. Very annoying. I don't have a blu-ray player in the bedroom, but I at least have an Xbox in there so I can watch the ultraviolet. I don't think DVD is dead enough to leave it out of the combo packs yet. I hope they don't do this with Captain America: TWS.

I love action movies, and this movie is filled with great action! It has a great story line, where evil is kept in check by the good guys. Thor reunites with Jane and the romance continues. Happy endings are critical for me. If a movie or book has a sad ending, I won't watch or read it. Along with all of the great action, romance and great ending is the fabulous graphics! At our house we rank movies from 1-10. This ranks a solid 9.

If you love Thor, you gotta have this DVD in 4K - the detail is amazing and you will swear you are right in the film! The clarity and crispness defy description - you need a 4K TV and a 4K DVD player and the high quality HDMI cables, but once you have your components set up, you will never go back to Blu Ray.

Love the movie but can only play on my blue ray DVD player. We only have one, so cannot watch this movie on other tvs, plus can't watch it on our portable DVD or car video player. Very disappointed. Most new blue ray movies also come with the regular version to play on non blue ray players. All my other blue rays have this capability. Will watch better next time I buy blue ray. I was EXTREMELY disappointed that it did not have the extra version. Had I noted it before the DVD was opened I would have brought it back.

All in all a very enjoyable movie. The plot was a little thin. Its obvious disney is trying to stretch this story out to make monstrous amounts of money from all the marvel titles over as many movies as possible while spending as little as possible, but with how much these movies make, 300 million isnt a bad investment, and neither is a movie thats 3 hours long,... I think lord of the rings proved that. Give us more for our money please. With that being said, it wasnt great, just good. It COULDVE been much more.

I really enjoyed this movie as well as the last Thor film. Marvel has really done it right with these movies. They take care of the characters and don't try to re-create them every time like DC has done to such disappointment. The only thing I would have liked to see more of was dialog between Thor and Malekith. Christopher Eccleston is such a great actor and is especially good as the villain. I hope they make another Thor movie.

Another Marvel superhero movie, fits in great with the franchise. If you watch Agents of Shield, the first season ties in with events from the Marvel movies, this one included. The show also features a character (say actress) from the movie. The movie itself is just downright fun and sometimes even a little funny. If you enjoy any of the Marvel superhero movies, you wont hate this one. I would say it's not quite as good as Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but as good or almost as good as Iron Man 3.

In this fantasy/science fiction movie, all,of the main characters are provided ample time to strut their stuff and give the movie some sound credibility. The movie is engrossing and does not allow you to daydream and holds your attention throughout the feature. Even with all of the heroic action, bravery, and special effects, there is time for an element of budding love between two characters. This is a favorite one for me.

I enjoyed Thor 2, and I have a full review up at 10mfh.com if you really want to know about the movie. But this is about the specific steel book case. The case is nice and looks and feels like you would expect a steel book to look and feel like. One weird problem, however. They made this a 3-disc case... And there are only 2 discs. What? Was it either too much to include the DVD copy, or just make it a 2-disc case? It just puzzles me as a lack of attention to detail. Ultimately not a huge deal, but bizarre.

I am a fan of the Marvel movies and I must say this movie is very entertaining. I know quite a few people that are very much into comics and they are constantly complaining how the movie does not follow the comics. If that is the case then don't watch this movie. The comic fans should understand that the movies version should be different, why? because you already know what happens. Overall, I enjoyed this movie as well as the other Marvel movies. The stunning sound and visual effects are great on blu ray.
