For a Marvel movie it was great to see what happened to them after Avengers. The plot also shows what happened to the nine realms after the first Thor and because of the war that was started. So it tied up the loose ends and then left a really weird ending that did not seem to flow with the rest of the movie. The negative is that there were so many black holes opening up that I spent that time laughing and Thor should never lose his hammer like he did. It was did not flow in the movie.

With Best Buy releasing these 4K Steelbook editions, I've gone back and revisited the earlier Marvel movies. This one didn't have the strongest villain, but everything else (characters, world-building, visual effects, etc.) was great! Except for more unfunny wisecracks from the "2 Broke Girls" actress... ha!

If you're into super hero movies, then this should be on your watch list, especially if you're following all of the movies surrounding the Avengers. Other than that, I'm not so sure this story would stand on its own. The action is really good, the imagery tries to pull you in, but the plot has a lot of holes in it, and I'm not sure how it all ended up working out in the end.

HAD to buy the 3D version even though I DONT own a 3D player...the only format options were (1) dvd only (2) bluray only (3) 3D / bluray / ultraviolet what happened to the bluray / dvd / ultra combo that everyone always has??? then the inside of the case has 3 spots for discs...seems they planned on a 3D / bluray / dvd / ultra option but left it out disappointed in the format choices

I never quite understood the hate for the Thor movies. I thought it did some very interesting world-building, and had great visuals. The bad guys in this movie might be eh, but I didn’t mind it while watching the movie. I watched it for Thor and Loki and both add a lot to their characters in this movie.

Picking up where Thor and Loki's story left off in The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World throws them headlong into a decidedly darker adventure. Despite a few issues, such as some rather one-dimensional villains and a few of the supporting characters being pushed to the side, the sequel pushes the stakes for our hero and company to new heights, moves along at a brisk pace, and features plenty of terrific action sequences and a great story that should please fans of the original.

Another Thor saga with many of the previous characters. Plenty of action for those who enjoy this type of movie. Not sure I like the ending, but it does set up another Thor movie; just hope the plots don't get thinner. 3D depth is good and there are times when stuff seems to fly out of the screen, though not in a gimmicky way. The acting continues to be a notch higher than good, but viewers need to watch the previous Thor movies to gain more of an insight into the characters.

I bought the item by mail and on sale and it came with damage. I worked with the customer service representative and they were able to send me a new copy of the movie at the same cost I bought it for originally. Can't beat physical media quality yet, so its something nice to add to the collection.

Thor was a great movie, and this sequel was even better. Besides the predictability, everything about it was top-notch, from the script - the story-line, the dialogue, the plot - the acting, directing, etc. to the scenery, cinematography, special effects, etc. The balance of the action, comedy, and emotion worked perfectly together to make a fun and entertaining movie to be watched again and again.

We saw Thor: The Dark World in IMAX and thoroughly enjoyed it. Watching it again on a small screen does not disappoint, it is still a enjoyable installment of the Marvel universe. The extras are worth watching, the only complaint is that the set comes with a Blu-Ray 3D disc instead of a DVD. We do not own a 3D capable TV, but usually use the DVD for the playroom and the Blu-Ray for the living room.

I am a fan of the newer Marvel movies and this is a worthy installment. Though it lacks some of the humor of the first, Hemsworth does a lot and adds even more depth to the character. It feels that more is being set up for in later installments, and I thought the antagonist in this movie just wasn't as threatening. The dark elves were secondary to what's happening to the main characters, and the Loki/Odin/Thor story was engaging seems ripe for more and continued development.

For those who are intrigued by the Asgardians, this movie explores a little bit more about their world. It does contain some witty one-liners and has a more comedic tone than Thor (1st movie), but it tends to lack substance & relies more on the special effects than relying on actually telling a good story. The main point of Thor was about humility, whereas the dark world is more about spectacular fights and explosions. Therefore, it's good fun when paired with some popcorn.

The film isn’t the best in the cinematic arc but the film looked good on Blu-ray and the 4K update looks great.

Thor the Dark World is a great "comic book" film. It doesn't try to be anything different than what it is, a comic book brought to life. With good acting, comic relief, some character development, and an adequate story, this movie satifies and is a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This movie is in line with the Iron Man and Captain America series. The Blu-ray looks spectacular.

The movie has grown on me, thanks to its inclusion in Endgame, however it 100% on the lower tier of MCU flims.

The 3D version does not come with DVD disc. Even the Blu Ray version, it is 1 disc package, no DVD. The steelbook case is nice but they sold out very quick. I was waiting outside the store to open. When I got in, no steelbook version in stock. They all sold out. I went to a few Bestbuy stores and finally got one.

Overall Thor: The Dark World was a great movie, however the 3D Bluray version didn't have everything it usually does. Previous Marvel movies, such as Iron Man 3 and The Avengers, would include the 3D bluray, bluray, DVD, digital copy, and the soundtrack download. While the DVD and soundtrack aren't as big of a deal, the price of the item wasn't much cheaper than previous movies which included everything. Hopefully the next round of movies won't skip out on everything.

Very good film with a lot of action and humor. Without spoiling anything it is a good set up for Thor to be on Earth more often and be there for the Avengers 2 Movie. It also brought up a lot of character evolution. Thor thinking if he wants to spend his life as King. Does he want to continue his relationship even though he will outlive her. That kind of stuff. All in all a very good movie.

Let me start by saying, I love the Marvel series of movies. This continues the Thor line and it is nicely done. I like how the characters have continued to evolve. The effects are great, story line nicely done and as always the ending isn't....so here's to waiting for the next installment. If you have not watch Thor, watch it first, then this one. Enjoy!

The movie is great. Good enough to enjoy and the only thing I have against the movie is the Villian could've been more memorable. The Blu Ray is packed with extras. However I do wish it was easier to claim my digital copy without registering with the marvel website. Go out and buy it if you like Thor, Marvel, or superheroes in general. Good action sequences and Loki steals the show again !
