The level of protection is 0. My husband macbook screen got cracked while inside, and more recently... mine.

Bad strap

Zipper broken

Cute but not shatterproof

Thule Gauntlet

I think the manufacturer should adjust the interior dimensions for a better fit. I felt it was a little thicker than necessary for comfortable carrying of the laptop. It seems a bit too small on the inside for the laptop. The corners of the laptop seem to be too close to the edge of the case for my comfort of protection of the corners. I returned it.

Thule is expensive
