Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the great protection, good fit, and ease of use offered by the Vectros Protective Bumper. Many appreciate its lightweight design and the improved grip it provides for their MacBook Air. However, some customers found the installation somewhat challenging and noted that the bumper adds a bit of bulk to the device. Overall, the positive feedback on protection and ease of use outweighs the minor concerns about installation and added size.

Almost worthy of 5 stars!

If this is what your looking for, you only have one choice! It provides a tight fit and gives you some handles that help prevent you from dropping the computer in the first place. It includes slightly large rubber feet on the bottom that raises the computer off the table and allows airflow beneath the computer. It also includes "Foggy" plastic inserts to prevent scratching of the macbook. Aesthetically, its not too bad! It doesn't interfere with any ports or temperature regulation. This bumper fits very tightly with no movement! However, not all is perfected yet with this first generation model... 3 things to keep in mind before you buy... First: The plastic clips that hold the top protector on the screen do in fact rub against the body of the computer on the bottom left and right sides. This makes for a noticeable click and pop when opening the screen. Over time now the plastic has worn down (and left some little plastic shavings) but still gives that bit of resistance when opening and closing. The Macbook has not been damaged at all by it. Second: The "foggy" plastic inserts to prevent scratches are held in place by very thin little plastic dots on the bumpers. I was unable to keep the plastic in place on with the bottom cover and it would slip around. Ultimately I gave up and removed it. This does not interfere with the fit of the bumpers at all however, and is purely aesthetic. Third: On the Macbook Air, the closing latch does not keep the computer closed. The latch will not engage and the laptop lid can easily be lifted open. The magnets on the Air itself do little with the added weight to keep it closed. In fact, the added weight actually works to "open" the screen if it is set to too wide of a viewing angle or bumped at all. On a table so far, I have not had any problems. In a car or bumpy area, expect the screen to be falling completely open when working. A quick fix to the above (albeit expensive) is to purchase the Thule Gauntlet 13 case (which this just barely fits in with the extra dimensions) and keep the computer in it while you work in those conditions. The extra resistance keeps the screen perfectly in place. Overall, Thule, you did good! You created the first product of its kind and I feel very confident my computer will be better equipped to survive a fall. The durability of the Mac Air itself is well known, and this makes it feel VERY resilient, especially from cosmetic damage to the corners! Thule, please just fix the three issue above and you will have a product that will not easily be rivaled! The price is steep, most likely since its for a specific market, but if you just spent over a thousand dollars on a computer, this is cheap insurance indeed!
