The "First Month Free" does not appear on the front, and the fine print on the back reads "* $30 service credit applied on your second month's billing."

not too impressed

I was looking for a basic plan, just calls and texts, and at $0.99 for the SIM card + $30 worth of plan credit, I figured I didn't have much to lose. What they don't tell you is you need some data on, or your calls don't come through, then they charge you for data "overage". It's come out to about $15/month (instead of $10), which isn't hateful, but I'm not thrilled with the lack of transparency there. In terms of service coverage, I haven't traveled with it yet, but have had the same quality as with AT&T so far. I'll probably keep shopping ...

Shady company

Service was alright, but I decided to move on to another carrier anyway. I ported out my line appropriately via the other carrier, but Ting kept charging me for another 2 months of service. Very, very shady. In the middle of fighting them for the money back; will update hopefully.

A waste of time and money

I have excellent credit and my cards never get declined. When I went to activate the Ting service, it wrongfully declined my card. I tried another card and it declined that too. I've used both credit cards I tried to use to activate Ting service after my problems with Ting, without being declined at different businesses. Ting has problems with declining valid credit cards. I just bought a SIM from a different company and gave up on trying to use Ting. I bought 2, I hope Bestbuy will refund the purchase of the Ting Sim I didn't open, but I'm not too confident about that. Oh well, I'm out $10, could be worse.
