Great value for occasional use

If you use your phone a lot, it becomes expensive. Ting uses T-mobile service so you can determine if it will work for you. The plan I have starts at $6 a month plus tax and you pay in tiers for calls, texts and data. Again, it would be a good option for those who don’t use their phones too much.
