It has the same size HDD, but it's able to save a lot more videos. TiVo is a lot faster. It's convenient because I can search once and find shows on Comcast, Netflix.

Very little video storage and more

TIVO no longer offers discounts for lifetime subscription for those TIVO owners who stuck with TIVO. I bought my first Series 1 TIVIO in 1999 and have purchases Series 2,3, HD, PREMIER and ROAMEO TIVO's. What a disappointment this box is and how they are treating loyal customers.

unusable right out of the box

From the time I stepped in the store there has been problems. I go back to Tv area to find the product. Sales clerk says the are not there but in home automation. I go to that area, find the display model with no pricing or boxes. I ask clerk in this area he says they should be in TV. Told him the tv dept says they are here. After he went to go search, 20 minutes later he came back with two. Yah!! Purchased one, got home and pulled out the old media center pc and hooked up all the cables, then plug in this Tivo. The fan sounds like it was going to come right out of the unit. Press any where on the unit with even the lightest of pressure and the fan stops moving. Will take back to store tomorrow and have them power up a new unit. Will update later with my experience in the Tivo world.

It's slow

This one is no exception. I've owned one for a couple of months now and already I'm tired of waiting for the "wait I'm thinking" spinning ball to go away and my menu to appear.
