Very difficult to try to connect with main box! Will do without!

Could not even activate the device with TIVo. When I called TiVo they indicated that they do not have the serial box on file with them to activate the TiVo. They indicated that there has been a bad batch of serial numbers given by Best Buy. So took it back.

Needed to use an ethernet cord to make this work. Not a good match for me so I had to return it.

It didnt work well with internet. It wouldnt connect to my other tivo box. I returned it back to bestbuy for a refund

I recently bought the Tivo Mini Vox from Best Buy as well as an extra Vox remote control for my Tivo Bolt so I could utilize the Voice feature on both. I got the voice control working fine on my Tivo Bolt DVR but it refuses to connect to the new Tivo Mini. I can get the remote to do the basic functions but it will not connect fully so the Voice feature isn't there. I did check it to see if my recorded programs were accessible from the Tivo Bolt and that is working properly. I even did the upgrade to both units hoping it would correct the inability to use Voice on the Mini but no go. Anyway Tivo apparently released this box too soon because I am far from the only one having issues using the voice feature...which they are advertising greatly. I guess I will have to call support although even that isn't helping many folks connect properly from what I am reading. If the remote was working I would have rated it 5 stars without a doubt. Until they correct this problem the BEST I can do is 3. Hope it's soon because it works awesome with my Tivo Bolt. VERY CONVENIENT! My suggestion is if you already own a Tivo DVR just order the Vox Remote and use your existing setup until Tivo gets everything corrected.

The price is steep, no doubt about it, but this mini has a set of features that sort of make it a must have for Tivo enthusiasts, and I'm definitely glad I picked it up. Commercial skip!!! Occasional picture glitches that self resolve within seconds Glossy finish Aside from that price tag, the connection scheme can be a deterrent - which stipulates that your main Tivo DVR be connected to your home network by ethernet or MoCA, not wireless. The new dongle Tivo sells means the mini can now be wireless, but I've connected mine using ethernet since it was available in my place. I regularly stream my recordings to iPads and laptops and definitely appreciate that ability, but you're not getting the best experience due to the web interface and inherent lag. This box provides the full experience you came for - and even though the new interface is less elegant and annoyingly favors streaming content over recordings, Tivo remains the gold standard for tv viewing and DVR and this device extends it nicely. If Tivo ever launches their long anticipated streaming app (for FireTV, Apple TV, Roku, etc) - and we could grow old waiting - it won't likely be able to touch the mini vox in video quality or features.

I purchase the unit from Magnolia/Best Buy, but, when I attempted to setup the unit, I received a S308 error. Next, when I tried to register the unit online, it informed me the unit was already registered. After calling Tivo Support, they informed me the TSN was invalid and that I had to get a replacement from Magnolia/Best Buy. The second unit... same issue. During the second call to Tivo Support, I was informed this is a known issue with units from Best Buy and Amazon, and that I needed to return for a refund and buy direct from them. The support agent skirted the line of placing Best Buy for selling THEIR faulty units, as if Tivo is somehow not responsible for the poor advice that result in 2 weeks additional wasted time OR the stocking suppliers with defective units. This whole ordeal is turning surreal. Can I give negative stars? As of now, I still don't have an effective unit or made any progress with Tivo. Tivo should take responsibility for their defective product, and Tivo support should not tell you to return for a replacement when they know the same issue can occur again.

My old mini finally crashed so I upgraded to the Mini Vox. It’s much faster and quick to set up; works great.
