Streams with ease.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Remote was a little challenging, screen instructions needs to be more thorough. Once setup, Streams with ease. FYI, When turning off, streaming continues with tv off. We must exit the app we're are streaming from before we shut it down. Found it's a known problem with a little research. Tivo suggests it will be sending a fix in an update.

Good but hoped for better execution
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good image quality, fairly quick. Sometimes helpful sometimes confusing combination of Google tv and old smart TiVo interface. Remote less intuitive than Roku - I have seen two freezes. Note no dvr function unless built into app. Some sling tv synergy but no free trial for prior subscription so did not test.

Nice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setting up the TIVO Streaming Media Player was fairly easy. Plugged into my 4k TV and followed the prompts. Entered codes and easily connected to my Google App on my cell phone. Registered and created my account. Then the TV prompted me to select apps that I use. Also provided choices of different tv shows and movies to get an idea of what I like. Then after that, I selected the app I wanted to view. The streaming was pretty good. I had been experiencing a few streaming issues, prior to installing this. The streaming is going much better. The remote has voice recognition, a button to see what shows are live, a button for Netflix for those of you that watch it, volume and channel controls, and a Guide. With your phone, you have the ability to cast videos from your cell phone and a variety of shows and apps to choose from. Very nice. Overall feel the product is worth it if you are looking to have all your apps in one place. A variety of apps to choose from. Pros: Easy Setup and faster speeds for me. CONS: Can't think of anything at the moment.

Solid streaming device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TiVo Stream is a solid streaming device with an interface reminiscent of TiVo devices. It was easy to setup (everything worked on the first try which is a rarity in setting up electronics), and it works great over WiFi - even when streaming 4k content. Overall, it's a solid streaming device.

Excellent Streaming player
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Tivo Stream 4K UHD streaming player rejuvenated of my old Sony TV that runs on an Android TV platform. Following the latest firmware update the TV became slow and buggy however the Tivo stream saved the day. The Tivo stream consists of a streaming dongle that you plug in to the HDMI port on your TV and a voice control remote with direct access to the google assitant. The hdmi dongle is powered by a micro USB cabke that must be connected to the the provided usb power brick. It is important that you do not plug the USB into 1 of the usb ports on your TV or unless you want to be stuck in endless boot loop cycle. Once you get the intial setup done and the new firmware loaded you can start logging in to your services. If you have an android phone you can use the phone to quickly setup the TIVO steam. The main feature of the TIVO stream is that it allows you to see all of your logged in services simultaneously so there is no need to go to each app separately. The Tivo stream also contains chrome cast so you are able to cast your TV from mobile devices. The guide feature will show you live TV options from Sling TV. Unfortunately I use YouTube TV as my live TV streaming service and there is currently no way to change this to the preferred service on the guide. Overall for the price TIVO has done a great job making a streaming stick that aggregates multiple services into 1.

Best streaming device out there!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TiVo streaming media player works so much easier than the Amazon Firestick or Google Chromecast. It turned my tv into the same as my Roku tv. It is so easy to use with all of my apps in one place. It was very easy to install and I find myself using the TV I have it installed on much more than I used to. I would definitely recommend this streaming device over any others out there.

No brainer. Tivo Stream 4K is the BEST!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once you apply the latest updates, it is SIGNIFICANTLY better than Google TV. I have both and it is nuts that someone thinks a Roku or a Google TV is better than the Tivo Stream 4k. The device doesn't have any limitations. It is native Android TV with the Tivo twist. Much better than anything you will buy today. And it is cheaper to buy. No brainer.

tivo 4k
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.at thirty dollars its a good buy. At fifty dollars google chrome cast is the better option. Tivo seems to be getting out of the streaming business.

More Datamining
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to say I'm really disappointed with the Tivo Stream, especially when compared to the Google Chromecast with Google TV. The device is a plain, large rectangular slab with a USB input for power and another USB -C for storage or add on devices like Ethernet. The Chromecast doesn't include the second port, so I do like the addition. Once you get set up and signed in the software looks almost identical to the Chromecast's Google TV UI except that there's an additional TiVO Stream app built in that kind of aggregates your services as a one-stop portal for content. The setup is what I take issue with. Once I went through all of the Google TV setup and activation, I had to go through another process to set up a TiVO account (or in my case reactivate an old one) and activate the device AGAIN. Obviously this is so TiVO can double-dip on mining my viewing data to sell to who knows who. Google is already doing this, now TiVO is following suit. Because of this I don't see any advantage at all over just getting a Chromecast with Google TY and using that. Especially when I like the Chromecast remote more. The TiVO unit comes with what looks like the old TiVO "Peanut" shaped remote which just feels clunky and outdated now. Otherwise the device seems competent and responsive, but I see no advantage to it that warrants having more fingers in my viewing data.

Falls short of expectations
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned TiVo products for at least 18 years including their 1st generation DVR. TiVo DVRs have been the center of every TV in every home I've owned since the day I brought home my first TiVo. They might not have invented the DVR, but their incredible ability to create a highly-intuitive user experience has been best-in-class for many years. To this day, I own 3 TiVo DVRs (with lifetime subscriptions) and 4 TiVo minis With this as the background, I was very interested to try out the new TiVo Stream. I have to say I'm disappointed on many fronts. I don't like how they have "chosen" the Android side instead of being technology-neutral. I own Apple products throughout my home. TiVo has succeeded over the years as an independent platform. I can't watch Apple TV shows on this device (or at least I haven't found a way to do this so far). Secondly, I was really hoping this device could stream recorded shows from my other TiVo DVRs. I'd like to see this device enable me to bring it to a vacation rental home and allow me to access all of my recorded shows on my home TiVo DVR. This device does now allow that. I also don't see the value in having "all of your streaming one easy-to-find screen" when it is so simple to navigate to any streaming app from my TV dashboard. I don't believe there is enough added value there. The good aspects of this is the 4K quality and TiVo's usual intuitive UX. In short, if you're a TiVo affcianodo you probably won't like this device. If you're looking to purchase a new streaming device to access many (not all) of the major streaming services, this is a competitive device.

Okay for bare minimum streaming. Stuttery at times
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this specifically for youtube, netflix, and plex media server use. (Not hosting a server, def not powerful enough for that. Just streaming from my existing server.) I like the android interface, though the ever-present TiVo app you can't get rid of and will regularly summon with an accidental button press can get really annoying over time. Also the bluetooth remote is great when it works, but it seems to lose connection fairly often which you'll certainly notice when you go to pause something and the remote goes "nope!" My main issue, though, is with playback. I have gigabit internet and yet I'm still subjected to constant stuttering during playback. It's not absolutely horrible but it's noticeable enough for a trained eye to take me out of whatever I'm currently watching. The wifi is more than strong enough and I've tested with a 3rd party speed app and I'm getting at least 350mbit most of the time. I've tried a wired connection but it's really difficult to find an ethernet adapter this thing supports. They WORK, sure, but they're capped at 100mbit without drivers, and no amount of googling will help you install drivers on this thing. I'm looking at the Nvidia Shield TV Pro as a replacement. It's admittedly overpriced, but it's far more powerful and would open up other options besides streaming video.

Good Box but no ethernet capability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This stick does almost everything I need. easy to set up. but my biggest complaint is that it has no ethernet connection. So it spend a lot of time Buffering. so not sure I will use it much. I not sure why TIVO decided to not have a ethernet connection, I would gladly pay a few $$ more for that. I would not recommend this to anyone that does not have a good wifi in there house. it just does not cut it with me.

Great Streaming/App Device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I currently own a 1st generation Chromecast and was looking for a unit which would add a way to use apps to my projector for watching movies instead of just streaming from another device. The TiVo Stream 4K seemed to be the answer. The setup was simple. Just plug it in and follow the on-screen setup. I was able to set up my apps quickly by signing into my Gmail account. I then had access to all my apps I use on my regular TV and still have the ability to cast workout videos from my phone. I would highly recommend this TiVo unit for anyone with and older TV or projector with either no smart TV function or if there are not many apps available. I am very happy with this streaming device.

Old and slow
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works, but slow response from remote and not as easy to operate than appletv or fire sticks. I was an early adopter of Tivo many years ago, and the peanut remote is very comfortable in my hand. I had high hopes for this streaming device, but just have it installed in my extra bedroom tv for guests or may take it along for when I travel for hotel rooms.

Not ready for Prime Time
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First let me say that I have been a TIVO fan from their first DVR and have been a cord cutter for a few years now. This device caught my interest because it claims to integrate the various subscription services into one menu. This is a great idea but it is poorly executed. I have used every streaming device out there and I have say TIVO really dropped the ball on this one. Right from the start the offer to use my existing Google account during the initial setup failed. I then continued to sign in manually and setup the device for my home network. After this is when the wheels really came off. I am a Sling subscriber and found it almost impossible to wade through numerous web pages plus the setup on my Android phone Google Assistant to get Sling to work. I am embarrassed to say I spent many frustrating hours on this task. Sling, which seems to be their premier partner, refused to link. I was constantly being redirected to the Sling sign up page. All this time if I went to the Sling APP on the device my complete menu was there. Finally I saw another link on that web page to link Sling to the TIVO streamer. It now said it was linked but not all channels were there. The next morning the channels appeared. My sling account also has the additional device to integrate OTA channels via an antenna. TIVO found them but the integrated menu for Sling on the TIVO streamer is a jumbled mess in no particular order. It should look identical to the Sling APP based menu. Some of the voice prompts failed with a generic message saying something failed and to wait and try again. That is not very useful when trying to get things to work. Also when trying to start the setup over you must again activate the device with a code presented which must be entered via a browser. This happened way too often. Yes, all web blockers had been removed from the browser least you think that was the cause of the issues of linking. The process is poorly designed. It also appears that TIVO removed, on purpose, any connection to Alexa. I understand there is a competition here for an assistant but that feels like spite work. I am not ready to change assistants in order to use this one device without having to reach for the remote. I decided not to move further in linking other services and to return to my another streaming device. I so wanted to like this device but sorry to say it just did not deliver.

Just don't do it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very long term TiVo customer who bought this hoping for past TiVo success/ quality. It regularly (multiple times a week) locks up requiring you to unplug the device to reset it. TiVo customer service just lip service with no help. Chose someone that supports their products (Roku, Fire, etc.) over a former great.
