I’ve been wracking my brain about how to write this review without it just descending into a stream of superlatives, and to be honest I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do it justice. But very quickly, I’ll just say that ’Top Gun: Maverick’ is not only one of the best films of this year, it is one of the best action movies of the last decade. It’s one of those films that is so good, that you will want to see it over and over again - and share with your friends. This movie is ideal for demonstrating how good your home theater system is. Watch it on the LARGEST screen available and crank up the volume (especially the subwoofer) and you will be transported into the movie. The sound quality is so good that the roar of the jets and the thundering bass will knock you on your rear end! GET THE MOVIE - you will thank me later!

Appeals to the most nostalgic area of our DNA. This is Cruise doing what he does best, although, in this perfectly structured sequel, he sits comfortably in the side car playing the role of the mentor and letting the younger actors share in their need for speed.
