Not really 4K quality. Perhaps a result of how it was originally filmed.

If i owned this movie already would be upset if day blue ray be about the same

It is a great movie but the picture is very grainy and fuzzy, Not very good quality of a remake of movie would not recommend buying this.

Had this movie on dvd wanted it on blu ray picture is a little better but not great and sound is somewhat better. OK with purchase.

Sadly it's not much better than the HD version. Underwhelming visually.

Definitely not worth the money for the 4K upgrade . I know it’s a 30 year old movie but I see no change but the slightest increase in brightness over regular blu-ray . Save your money on this one . Great movie but was expecting more color pop or over all something being remaster 4K

Why do people leave reviews for old movies in 4k? If you're buying old movies in 4k format is because you've seen it! So my review is based on the 4k quality... which is terrible! Extremely grainy, the 4k just points out all of the flaws in the movie! The HDR is pretty much non existent... the only area I saw improvement was the sound! If you have this movie in any other format, I would advise not to upgrade! Saw some reviews of people praising the 4k version... I really wonder what TV they're using! I have an OLED with an Atmos set up and with the exception of the audio this movie transfer was terrible!

I have always loved this movie from the first time I saw it 30 years ago. This review is not about the movie. This review is about the 3D Blu ray quality of video and audio. I purchased the Blu ray version of Top Gun last year and was disappointed in that it seemed like a blu ray version of the VHS tape of Top Gun I had from the 80's. So, I hoped this 3D version would truly be a 1080p experience. The menus are beautiful. Upon seeing this, I was excited that maybe this version of Top Gun was worthy. However, once I clicked Play, the movie starts out dark and highly grainy and stays that way throughout. The 3D effects are flat for a 3D movie. The audio is listed as 5.1 True HD, but its weak and lacks punch. To say the least, I wished I had my money back on this one.

It's an okay movie. Not the best 80s movie I have seen.

A very good 4k dvd with high quality and pricing balance.

If you like the movie then you should like the upgrade to 3D. Best parts were the flying scenes.

A bit dated but still a great movie to watch on a rainy night with that special person.

Don't expect to get an upgraded viewing experience with the 4K UHD edition. I knew this going in, so I was ok with the poor transfer to 4K. Just wanted to get it so my wife can watch it for the first time before TopGun:Maverick get's released.

Love Top Gun. The box said digitally remastered so that's why I got it. However, the director chose to add a grainy look to it in an attempt to make it more movie like. So, it looks just the original DVD. Save your money.

Great Movie but the words don't match screen a lot of the time. Very annoying.

Cover of the jewel case is slashed.....I need to contact Best Buy about exchanging the copy I received. Otherwise, the movie is still entertaining and 4K gives you superior resolution and the depth of field is amazing.!
