Got it installed only to find out that it won't work and that is as far as I want to take it with this product, no troubleshooting for me.

I understand that you're not interested in troubleshooting, but when performing DIY drive replacements that can sometimes be part of the process if every step wasn't performed flawlessly. I wonder if you've tried connecting it externally (e.g. through a USB interface) to see if the drive is visible to Windows and to partition, format, and (optionally) transfer data to it.

I wonder if you've contacted them about the problem. One possibility is that a connector has come loose and the drive and computer will work fine once it is reconnected.
Please contact Geek Squad to get the problem resolved and, if the drive proves to be defective, I believe they will replace it. If not, you can initiate Toshiba's warranty replacement program at acclaim.toshiba.com anytime during the warranty term.

The drive runs clean, QUIET and haven't had any issues with it since my HP laptop was repaired about 5 months ago. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium. It was under $80 on sale and I highly recommend it.

It was not a stock item so I could not simply exchange it. I realize hard drives are designed to go bad ,just not before they reach the customer..It is not that I do not like Toshiba as that is the laptop it was to be installed in.

I put this in my PS3 that had a problem with cut scenes skipping on games that where on the hard drive. Easy install, quiet drive and fixed the problem cheaply. My only complaint is the same as all hard drives, they mislead you on the size only 931mb not 1024mb that would be a 1tb drive, after format and software install I have 828mb free.

I know it's not supported anymore but 2 days ago when I ran my computer I got the dreaded Smart error saying my hard drive was about to fail and I needed to backup my stuff immediately. Well I did not have anything important inside my computer, but I still needed my computer. Could not afford a new one. This one was very affordable and installed easily in my Dell XPS M1530 in minutes. I ran the full format on the HDD and then installed XP SP3 Pro onto the hard drive, ran the Windows Updates and put my programs back on there. I have had no performance issues using the HDD whatsoever. It was $50 during the sale and I bought it using store pickup. The staff that helped me with my store pickup was very courteous too at Store #364. This is a fantastic value and a must have for anyone that wants to keep their current computer but don't want to buy a new one. Just remember what I said in my review. Don't do a quick format, do a full format. XP Pro disc has a full format feature. Otherwise use a tool you can boot from disc and format the disc fully there.

Great HDD for PS4

I was more interested in more storage space for my PS4 than I was for speed. Out of the box and into my console with no problems! Be sure to read the instructions on the PS4 support website and look at some of the videos on YouTube, especially if you're not mechanically or technically inclined.

I have had a couple of the drives for more than 2 years and they work great. When Best Buy has them in stock and you can catch them on sale for $39 -$49, you simply cannot beat the cost/TB, performance and reliability. These are not as fast as 7200RPM+ drives or SSD's, so don't expect that kind of performance, but for the money, you cannot go wrong with this drive.
