I bought this TV from best buy and had tried two other models. One was a Sony 43" and the other a Samsung" both are 4K and I had to say hands down this Toshiba 1080P beats the other 2 in every category except the audio, which is average, just play it through your audio system and you are set to go.. The picture on the Toshiba was way better than the Sony and Samsung..Don't let the salesman talk you away from this as the proof is in the pudding.

This review is for the Toshiba 43 inch model 43L420U. For the price you can not beat this TV, it doesn't have smart apps, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the high end, high priced models what you get is a simple, solid, TV with a great picture and surprisingly good sound, along with all the connectivity options you would expect. If that is what you are looking for look no further. and for the record, I do not work for Toshiba or any retail outlet that sells Toshiba products.

Picked this set up to replace an older 32" Sony in our bedroom. We had gone to the store with the idea of purchasing either another Sony or a Sharp in a 43" size. They were out of the Sharp & the Sony was priced well over $400. My wife saw the price tag on this one ($199 - new unopened) & after a little quick online research decided to give it a try. All I can say is, "Wow"! Setup was quick & easy, sound quality is probably the best that I've ever heard from a flat screen set *(very good bass response), & the picture quality is extremely good for the price point. Give this model a look.You won't be disappointed.

Purchased this to use as a computer monitor, but it was horrible. The text was extremely blurry!

The picture on this tv went out two days after installation. I'm sticking to Samsung.......

hdmi #2 doesn't work, the other 2 i have to wiggle the cord around just for it to work.

When lightning struck my TV through the cable line I had to purchase a new one and this one fit within my budget. My old TV was a Toshiba 720p 32" so this one is an upgrade. Setup was easy. The picture is great. The sound is terrible. You'll need to adjust the picture quality but it isn't that hard to do and you should have no trouble playing around with the settings. There is a reset button so you can put everything back to factory settings if you need to start over. As for the sound- The speakers aren't bad speakers. It's the positioning of the speakers. The sound comes out from the BOTTOM of the TV between the legs. The sound quality (because of position) is far worse than my 5 year old Toshiba TV. It works in a small room with little background noise but if you have a loud house or big room then you will need a sound bar/external speakers. I'm buying a sound bar. It's not a Smart TV but with a Firestick or other streaming service you can easily make this into a not-dumb TV. You can also hook it up to your laptop or desktop with an HDMI cable and use it for internet streaming. You don't need to spend the extra money for Smart if you don't want to. Lastly this TV comes with a QAM tuner. This means you don't need to rent a cable box from the cable company to use it. I am using the TV in the bedroom where I just plug the cable directly into the TV. You will not get HD programming other than OTA channels (local) but you aren't paying an extra $20/month for a 2nd box either. (some cable companies are getting rid of direct cable hookups. Your area/cable company might be different from mine.) All in all it was a good purchase for me. I am familiar with Toshiba and hadn't had any major problems with the other two Toshiba TVs I've owned.

This is a remarkable TV in every way. Superior picture, beautiful sound, very easy to set up TV and computer. For the novice user, if your computer desktop is overshooting your TV, the adjustment to make it fit is a TV adjustment, not a computer adjustment. I've had LG and Panasonic TVs before this Toshiba, and the Toshiba was by far the easiest to set my computer on. No other set I saw in the 40" to 43" up to $299 was even close to this one in any metric. I've had it for a couple of months and I still marvel at the value of the purchase.

I had a older TV and searched many reviews and TV's i went with Toshiba on the Today's Deal and it's AMAZING not a bunch of bells and whistles or cords just one HDMI that connects to the cable box and 1 HDMI that connects to the blue ray player and the picture, sound everything is Excellent! Definitely recommend. 1 thing fyi.. if you have the older Cox cable you will need to use the cable remote to let the Box know that your sound needs to come thru HDMI.

i bought this 43 inch Toshiba TV back in 2017 during tax season and and still running 7 years later!! NO ISSUES, NO PROBLEMS!! After 7 years, it is time for a new TV and i am going to get Sony - 43" Class BRAVIA 3 LED 4K UHD Smart Google TV - (2024) and take my current toshiba to Best Buy to have it recycled and get my NEW TV!! i know tv's can last for a life time, but, i need a new style and be able to connect my S24 Ultra wirelessly with Smart View Screen Mirror!!

Toshiba use to be one of the top of the line brands out there and throughout the years it has become more and more obselete. It's unfortunate because they're still pushing the bar. This TV was an awesome price and the picture is phenomenal! Sound quality is great and my son prefers this TV over our 55 in Samsung. This was a perfect purchase and I really can't say that about anything I buy! Lol! Highly recommended!!

I bought this TV looking to replace a 7 year old Phillips plasma that had started to fail on me. I read plenty of reviews on this TV and the most common complaint was the sound. This TV is for my bedroom so that wasn't a really big issue for me. When I got the TV home I was surprised by how light the TV was compared to the one it had replaced. Setup was a snap and after a simple adjustment to the sound for treble and bass settings I was blown away by what I had bought for $250. The sound is crystal clear and the picture is beautiful (for the price). I have no regrets for this purchase and would strongly recommend this to people I know.

I bought this TV in the store, brought it home and tried to set it up. Had a problem with HDMI so I called Toshiba Tech support 3 times. The first two times they recommended returning the set. The third time I got somebody who spoke English. After 10 minutes the TV worked great, great picture, sound was good for a flat screen (will be adding a sound bar). Lesson - keep calling tech support until you get somebody who is not just responding to "key words". The HDMI slots were not numbered correctly, I changed the input from HDMI 1 to HDMI 3 and it worked! Then I had to adjust the picture size in the TV and in the Directv DVR as instructed by Tech Support from Toshiba so I could use the whole 43" screen. Problem fixed.

Excellent television that has lasted us 7 years. Great picture and sound and the perfect size for our situation. Remote quit a little early but was easily compatible with a universal remote.

This has been one of the best T.V.s I have ever owned , it has a very nice display , speakers sound very clear on voices and very Deep with bass , remote is very simple and easy to use , it has 3 hdmi ports so u can easily hook up lots of devices but over all I love with tv I would give it a 5 out of 5

I researched Westinghouse, Sharp, Vizio, & Toshiba in the 40-43" tvs. The Toshiba was on sale last week for $50 less and I had to jump on it. The sharpness is impressive and the picture quality is top-notch. I can't imagine any reason not to like this tv. I don't even use the dynamic contrast settings and it still looks amazing!

This Toshiba 43 inch was a great buy. It's my first flat screen tv. The picture is great! Sound is great! Movies look good. Now, there is not a clock built into the tv, this is a problem when looking for programming. You have to be on the channel in order to see what is coming up. There are no channel and volume buttons on the actual tv so if you lose the remote...but there is a power button.

Bought this 43 inch Toshiba because years ago I owned one. It was great. So will give this one a try. Great Picture and Color. This is a basic tv for a person that doesn't want all the other junk. Very pleased. Would recommend this to anyone. This is not a Smart TV. Just a Basic set.

This TV has an awesome picture and good sound. I always have trusted Toshiba quality products. I had a Samsung and returned it in 3 days. I just don't have any luck with Samsung products TV's or Smartphones.
