    nice tv

this tv has a very nice picture, really nice louder speakers (even though I choose to use optic output instead), a manual power button to go along with the remote, and plenty of inputs for me (accepts hardwire from modem along with wifi). I have had it for about a month and the only complaints so far is that the option for screen mirroring is not offered, it boots up on fire tv dashboard as opposed to last input used(so you have to choose hdmi for cable if you want to watch tv), and compared to my old Samsung tv which would automatically switch to the hdmi port my chromecast was plugged into when I chose to cast from my phone, this tv has to be switched manually(kind of a bummer). The remote is a nice shape, and has enough features. This tv is not loaded with features and settings like my old smart Samsung but it hasn't been an issue excluding the aforementioned negatives. Overall I like this tv so far, it works excellent with prime video membership. Some people have said things like it has no manual and you cant access settings while watching something; not true, the manual is online and settings can be accessed by long pressing the home button.

    Excellent TV

Bought this during Thanks Giving for a steal and it was entirely worth it. I tested this TV alongside a Sharp 55" 4K and this outshone the Sharp so I went with this one even though it is a smaller screen. Sound quality is great and you do not need a sound bar but since I already had one, used it. I tried wired as well as wireless internet and it is very responsive. By default, it would start on the home screen but you can make it switch to a particular HDMI input when you turn it on. It was a bit of a struggle to pair this to the Vizio sound bar via HDMI ARC. The sound quality is pure magic and it was worth the struggle. My earlier TV was connected via Optical and HDMI ARC is a big difference in terms of dialogue clarity and hearing all musical notes. When switching on the TV, it might take a few seconds for the sound bar to connect but after that, no issues.

Excellent TV for size and price point

We have a TV cabinet that will only fit a max 43 inch set so this fit the bill. Image quality is excellent and the sale price (200) is a steal. I can say that if you don't have Amazon Prime the initial start up to the Fire TV menu might be annoying (but who doesn't have Prime at the point). Very happy with this buy.

Have had this tv for a couple of weeks now. I really enjoy this tv. Nice clear picture. Have figured out how to remedy a few problems some have encountered. One was my tv can turn on automatically to hdmi 1 and I am able to use my cox remote with no problem. I purchased this because I am a prime customer and it works nice. Only ninch I have observed is the audio volume is not consistent sometimes the sounds are louder than other times I use this. Other than that I am really enjoying this tv. Would recommend this tv.

Use in my workout room. Fine picture and sound. Easy set up. I like the "natural" picture setting. I use it with a Roku and it was easy to set the TV to always start on HDMI1. So now I just use the Roku remote. Only downside is the loss of color at higher viewing angles.

can't figure out how to stream

I think the tv in itself is awesome. The specs, and colors, and ease of navigation. I used to have the insignia roku tv which was super easy to stream to from my iPhone. I still haven't figured out how to stream directly from my phone to the tv without purchasing a app to do so. Any advice would be great!

Focuses too Hard on Being an Internet TV

From the start it's clear that this device is not the traditional TV with Apps to expand the experience. Instead Toshiba and Amazon have partnered to create this device that focuses almost exclusively on the internet TV experience, and Amazon in Particular in such a way that it makes it a burden to do simple tasks. Yes it has a voice remote but if you are like me I have a Tivo (or other set top box from the cable company) Without the ability to program in your DVR, or other component to the remote it makes the remote a paperweight. Even very inexpensive TV's from Viz have a remote that can be programmed with some basic functionality, not so with Toshiba. They are of the mindset that you will do everything with apps so those HDMI ports if you choose to use them will need to be controlled by the devices own remote cause we aren't gonna work with it. The TV is also supposed to CEC enabled which in other devices meant if you switch to an input the TV would send a signal to the accessory device attached to that HDMI port and power it on. This Toshiba doesn't do that. But if I turn on the Blueray disk player it sends the signal to the tv and it switches to the correct input. It's these navigation and core functionality issues that have made this a meh device. Trying to force the web apps on everything is fine but now with most internet services going to data caps sort of makes the whole 4k think a moot point unless you want to pay the absorbent prices for additional GB over the cap. That said the TV does have a good picture and sound. Watching HD off the air is very nice and blu ray disks are smooth playing. I was concerned because of the size of the picture and that it not look shuttery. Thankfully Toshiba put some $$ into the software development to smooth the video and make things a clean experience. Sound is also very good with virtual surround giving you some surprises when you least expect them. The Amazon being front and center is a let down along with the failure to control any other devices but the TV and not support any HDMI device is where the rating has taken it's hit. If you are going to spend the coins making a device voice activated you need to be able to control devices are attached to the TV, otherwise you are putting $$ into a paperweight that is going on a shelf are rarely used.

Great TV, Great Price.... no Echo Dot

I’m having surgery in a few days and decided to upgrade the TV in my bedroom since I’ll be living there for about 3 or 4 days. Went to my local BB showed a sales associate the TV on the website and sure enough they had one in stock, loaded it into my car and away I went (the sales associates were AMAZING btw). Got it home, easy setup, great picture and sound. Shocked considering the price point. My only disappointment is that it did NOT come with an Echo Dot. Not a huge issue, but I like getting what I’m told I’m going to get. Aside from the Echo issue I totally recommend this TV. If your local BB has this in stock go get’cha one.

Picture is good, Won't stay connected to internet

I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in this TV. I got this on Black Friday at Best Buy for a good price, but I should have known better as I've always heard that the electronics released for the BF sales are inferior, and the Dell laptop I bought there 3 years ago for BF has been nothing but trouble. But as for this TV, I like the 43" size and the 4K picture is good so if I only wanted this to watch DVDs and Blu-rays on, it would be perfect. That's the only reason I gave this as high as 2 stars. However, I also like to watch TV. I much prefer the layout and ease of the Roku I used before I got this Fire TV, but I am learning to live with it. The main problem is that this will not stay connected to the WiFi very well. It is constantly freezing up in the middle of shows, and sometimes I can't get anything to play at all. It tells me there is no internet, yet my tablet and phone are still using the wifi. I have to unplug it and reboot it at least every 3-4 days. It is very frustrating. I tried to watch a movie a couple of days ago, and it froze up for such long periods that the TV thought I wasn't watching anymore and shut itself off so many times that I had to go rent a physical dvd just so I could see the ending. A lot of these reviews are from people who say this is a great TV for their guest room or garage or for their kids to play video games on. I'm not like that, I don't have much money and I had to save up for this to be my only TV so I feel like this was a huge waste of money.

Needed a TV in my basement to go with my high end audio set up. Didn't want anything too fancy but wanted 4k, hdr, smart TV as cheap and simple as possible. The TV serves this role perfectly, picked it up on sale for $230. I have had it for two weeks now, and absolutely would buy it again if I needed another TV. Only thing it doesn't appear to have is some kind of chrome cast or screen mirroring, but you can control certain apps such as YouTube and Spotify over WiFi with mobile devices.

I bought this TV for 199 at Best Buy. It has been more than a month. Everything looks nice. The picture quality is excellent for the price. Sound quality is amazing! Very easy to set up and very light weight compare to my old LED TV. It is big saving for me because TV with similar specifications in other top brands cost at least $ 400 or more!

I have a 65 in curved Samsung 4K TV in the living room which is amazing, but it's definitely way too big for any other room. The 43 in size is pretty much perfect, if a little big for the smaller room. I found Fire TV to be just fine, but the star here is Alexa's functionality built in to the remote. I didn't expect much, but it turned out to be really convenient and accurate. I guess if you have a bunch of other IoT appliances that you are Alexa-compatible, you could build a nice hub, but I don't, so I only experienced the TV uses.

I bought one of these TV along with an Amazon Echo device over the weekend. For the price, this TV and the quality it offers is a total bargain. You get both DTS Surround and Dolby Audio. In addition, this TV also has a build in DVR that allows you to record up to 2 minutes for live TV if you ever missed a live show while washing dishes in the kitchen. If you use a USB flash drive you can actually record up to 1 hour of TV show. In my house, I also own an Amazon Cloud Cam. With this TV integrated with Alexa. I can now see the Cloud Cam in my side door entry on my Toshiba TV with Alexa remote instead of picking up my phone to check on the camera. Overall, I would say this TV is a great deal compare to what you would pay for Vizio which lacks all of the great Alexa features and the DVR that this TV comes with.

Got this on a great deal during Super Bowl week. Very easy to set up and easy to use. I'm a big Amazon guy, to begin with, so this TV is right up my alley. Easy to put together and set up. Recommends apps for you to start with as well. 4K looks great and has three inputs for HDMIs which is great as well. Synced with Alexa and it works great. Would recommend for anyone looking for a cheaper affordable 4K TV.

It's OK, but much better options are out there

I originally bought this in 2019, and I'm just now reviewing it 4 years later. The honeymoon period has warn off for sure. Bought this TV to mount for a workout area. It's great that it's lightweight and easy to maneuver on a wall mount. The Fire TV interface is mostly easy to use and get setup with an existing Amazon account. The user interface is extremely sluggish and has only gotten more sluggish over time. It even recently started reporting that it was running low on disk space, despite us not installing anything new in the last year. If you want a cheap TV that gets the job done and you have a lot of patience for slow interfaces, then this TV is OK. Otherwise, there are many better options out there.
