Good TV, Not good for 4K Gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV over this past weekend, Good TV, okay picture quality but found out that it can't output 4K @ 24 Hz with the xbox One S which most of the new games, BF 4, BF 5, BF1, CoD World War, GR Wildlands, Skyrim, The Witcher 3 and whole lotta will not display on this TV as it don't support 4K @ 24Hz. It however supports 4K HR10 gaming, 4K @ 60Hz. I believe it will work with an Xbox one X as it outputs 4K @ 60Hz natively but I don't have one to test this out. I have a PS 4 Pro but I haven't tested its 4K gaming with this TV yet. If you're looking of a cheap 4K TV to play games on, I will look elsewhere or just get a gaming monitor.

Not good for satellite tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as Best Buy’s deal of the day. Easy to set up. Great picture. I wasn’t aware of all the Fire TV features, but was excited to learn about them and see them in action. I easily connected it to my wifi, selected and set up the apps I wanted, and everything worked great. However, the problems started when I connected my satellite box via HDMI cable. When I changed channels on the satellite box, the screen would go snow white for a few seconds before the sound and picture kicked in. Sometimes there would be popping sounds and the screen would go completely black. When that happened, the audio would eventually come on, but the picture would not. I had to turn the tv off and on again to get a picture. I tried different HDMI cables and used different HDMI inputs on the tv, but had the same results. I returned the tv to Best Buy and they exchanged it without a problem. (Kudos to them!). Unfortunately, I’ve had the exact same problems with the replacement. It’s going back today. Very disappointing!

Three Words: Variable. Audio. Output.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not many TVs still have analog outs these days, let alone variable ones. I needed a TV with a variable analog out to hook to my Sonos Connect so I don't have to pull up a GD app to control the volume and can just use the TV remote. I actually went through 2 other TVs that I was told (by BB employees) had variable outs but did not. Almost gave up the ghost when this release happened to align with my last return. The TV isn't perfect, but it works for me.

Blue light when TV is off
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has a blue light that is ON when the TV is turned OFF. Blue light prevents you from getting sleep (if the TV is in your bedroom) because it tricks the brain into thinking it's daylight so there's no melatonin being produced which is crucial for sleep. You have to either unplug the TV at night or put a piece of black duct tape to cover the light like I did. The TV still turns ON and OFF with the tape on but the blue light is gone.

Great Tv But Missing Important Feature
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A 43" Tv is grat for the Bedroom and works well with Alexa! Only one issue You can't set sleep timer using Alexa! Its really unfortunate that this is not enabled. Before i go to bed every night i like to watch the news and i wish i didnt have to find the remote and go though 6 steps to turn on timer every night.

Meh, half it claims are true
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I suppose it's a good value - price is right. Connecting to echo Dot is painstaking. Half the time it works had the time it apologizes and says it's not supported. Instructions are horrible. Picture is good and it was cheap though. But don't think your going have much hands free functionality , Because you won't.

43’ brick.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a waste of $200. The TV disconnects from the WiFi every time it goes to sleep, which would malfunction the remote. The remote would turn the tv on and off but wouldn’t do anything else. So I had to hold the home button for a long time to get it to repair, reconnect to my WiFi and then I was able to watch tv. Then it got to the point where holding the home button no longer worked, so I had to hold 3 different buttons to get it to cut back on... EVERYTIME I turned my tv on. Now it won’t even discover any WiFi net works unless I factory reset it. The apps force close for no reason. The picture from HDMI input randomly blanks out for up to 4 seconds. And I’ve only had this tv for 2 days. Worst experience ever.

3.5 years later...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.3.5 years later the speakers are fuzzy. Googled and did everything suggested short of taking it apart. Info says repair could be $1,700, but the tv costs under $300 new. I will buy a new one though, it was worth 3.5 years at that price. I love that Alexa can control it.

Not happy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really disappointed with this. Picked up at Best Buy on 3/22/19 and thought it was a really good deal. We intended to use Prime Video to stream and use an antenna to get free local broadcasting. After the initial setup and connecting to WiFi, the set automatically downloaded updates. We connected the antenna and logged into our Amazon account. The terrestrial channel scanning picked up about 35 channels. The voice command remote worked well and we were pleased to try switching channels. Picture quality was great. Next we tried to stream some shows. We downloaded some apps (ABC, TNT, YouTube) and streamed some content. It worked fine. But here is where it all goes sideways. We decided to switch back to broadcast TV and we're baffled when we only got a black screen and no audio on any channel we tried. Switch back to streaming and the picture was fine. We finally got the TV stations back after doing a full re-scan. Thinking maybe it was a one time fluke we tried going back to streaming then back to TV channels AND THE SAME PROBLEM! Black screen/ no audio! Another re-scan restored the channels. We repeated this 3 times! Calls the next day to Best Buy and Toshiba we're unproductive. I shared a video I made graphically showing the issue. Both said they had never encountered this anomaly before. I'm no expert on these things but I suspect some kind of software/firmware issue. This is a relatively new model and most people probably don't use the antenna input so maybe that is why Toshiba isn't aware there is a problem. I ended up returning it for a refund as I don't have confidence another (same model) would solve the problem. No more Toshiba Fire TV for me. Zero (one) star from me.

Poor image
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this TV on sale to replace a 40" Toshiba HD TV in the bedroom. The features were nice and I liked the voice activated remote, but ultimately it is a TV and the picture has to be good. The picture quality on this TV was FAR inferior to my 10-year old standard 1080 HD set. Toshiba is no longer Toshiba - literally. It is now made by Chinese TV manufacturer Hisense and the picture quality is sub-par in several ways. Most notably, the off-angle viewing suffers terribly. Once you move as little as 30 degrees off direct center viewing (either horizontally or vertically) the picture dims noticeably. Brightness and clarity seem to diminish as much as 50% at angles greater than 60 degrees! This is not the case in reputable brand TV's. I guess you do "get what you pay for". It's too bad Fire TV has not yet partnered with a high-quality TV manufacturer like Sony, LG or Samsung. Until then I'd recommend staying away from Toshiba or Insignia, and instead buy a good TV and a separate Fire TV Stick.
