You can’t easily switch from one channel to another and need to go through many steps to do so. TV takes a very long time start up - long delay. Would not buy again.

      Hi.

I'm sorry that the situation was like that and I completely get if this was disappointing to you. Some cable service providers have yet to launch a version of their apps on our platform. On cases like this the best way is to proceed as usually and use the proprietary cable box your provider gives you. Thank you for writing us this review and feedback.

    Good TV

I got the TV about a week ago and I like it. HD, regular channels have very good picture quality. Sound is good for the size and great in our bedroom. Mounting and set up was a breeze. No issues with quality on the streaming apps. Live TV like Hulu and YouTube TV seems to have some delays (fluttering) in the motion on fast moving broadcast (like sports) or ticker tape on news. I do not think this is with the TV itself. Had a lot of updates when I set up the TV and having the same issue with my Sony tv after their updates. Looks like Hulu and YouTube TV needs to update their filmware. Techs said once that happens it should clear up the lag. With the price and fee Ecot for under $230 its a good value. I would give it 5 stars, but the 4K is not as impressive as my Sony and Sharp TV. Not bad, but not impressed. Also I do not like that you have to have a Amazon account. Luckily my wife has Prime, so it was a non factor in my case, but if she didn't I don't like to be forced to sign up for something to get the TV and apps. up and running. And lastly I like the function where you can see the picture change as you adjust the settings. This TV you cant. You make adjustments then switch to tv to see the changes, then have to go back to settings and vice versa. If someone knows of a way where I can adjust the display settings as I'm viewing TV, please let me know. I cant seem to figure it out.

    Toshiba TV's are awesome!

Before I get into the review I want to say that I have this 43 inch and the larger 50 inch version. Both TV's are superior to the lower priced Insignia 4k TV'S, the Toshiba has a better screen and better speakers for a little more money, totally worth it. Also to get the best imagine quality out of these TV's it's important to turn sharpening down to zero! If it's too high you'll get artifacts that'll affect the image quality. I'm writing this review for anyone who might have the older 43 inch 1080p Chromecast version. If you're unsure if these newer 4k TV's are worth the upgrade the answer is a resounding YES! What's better about the newer 43inch 4k Fire Edition over the older 43inch 1080p Chromecast version? Well every aspect except for the audio. You still get two 8 watt Onkyo speakers which sound great for the price point. But the main improvement is processor speed, boot up times, user interface, the remote is much nicer and the screen! Yeah Toshiba has really improved the screen with these newer 4k TV's. Every new generation of affordable TV that comes out it seems they're making pretty big jumps in advancements in terms of the overall package. So getting back to the screen. The blacks are deeper and much cleaner, the whites are also cleaner and brighter and the colors overall just pop and look fantastic! 4k content looks gorgeous on this TV and also on its bigger 50 inch brother which I also bought (cuz they're on sale). The 50 inch has Dolby Vision which makes for more accurate looking dark and bright scenes which results is a bit better Dynamic range. But the 43 inch even without Dolby Vision still looks fantastic. Compared to the older Chromecast version these newer 4k fire stick TV's look like they should cost a few hundred more. The menu system is super quick and easy to navigate, if you're tech savvy you'll pickup on it very easily. Everything is a click away and basically in your view so there's little hunting around to do. These TV's can also pair to your Bluetooth keyboard and headphones! Huge step forward there, makes using these TV's much faster for apps and browsing around. For video games these TV's have quick response times and make playing any game very enjoyable (the old Toshiba Chromecast version was also very good in this regard). So is there anything bad to say about these TV's? Just one thing. The refresh rate isn't 120 hz and the screen even though it's much improved over the last gen still won't compete with TV's that have OLED technology (obviously) or even higher end LED TV's. BUT if you just want and affordable TV that does give you excellent bang for the buck then don't hesitate to buy a Toshiba 4K TV. It's well worth the money even at regular retail prices!

This tv is so perfect. It has an awesome picture, great sound, and easy setup. I love the way the pages are set up too. Each of your apps are always so accessible. And if you can’t find what you’re looking for, Alexa will help you with just a push of a button on the remote. This tv is so worth the money and I would highly recommend it to anyone who uses Amazon, or just wants a tv in general. :)

    Perfect for Me!

I'm way behind the times and this is my first smart TV. I've just moved into a new home with a new internet provider, and all of this combined with a new smart TV and my less-than-ideal grasp of technology had me worried that I wouldn't be able to set the TV up right, get it connected, or be able to keep it connected. Basically, I was prepared for every situation that I read about in the bad reviews of smart TVs. For whatever reason, I've had my eye on this one from the beginning (and I've been researching and refusing to pull the trigger on one for over a year). Finally just went and got it yesterday. Came home and had it up and running in no time and IT IS WONDERFUL. I'm only using it for streaming Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ and downloaded the Youtube app and I think AMC. This is more than enough for me to always be able to find something to watch. It stayed on from the moment I got it set up and I watched several episodes of The Office, A couple of short Disney cartoons, two full-length movies, and a couple of Youtube videos before I reluctantly turned it off and went to bed. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. The picture is beautiful and the sound is great. I'm so happy I bought it, and the fact that it was on sale makes it even better!

I mainly bought this tv for my playstation pro, and overall I am amazed on the visuals and sound quality it provides. My girlfriend and I enjoy watching movies and shows with this tv and I recommend it. Although 43" doesn't sound to big, it surprisingly was bigger than I thought in person.

No Vudu app, heavy Amazon FireTV advertising

I bought this Toshiba - 43" Class - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR - Fire TV Edition ovr 2 years ago at Bestbuy. Vudu app is not available. Only MoviesAnywhere is available to download but MoviesAnywhere doesn't have certain movies because of certain movie studios. Starting last year, Amazon sent a lot of advertising to FireTV. Starting this year, because Amazon sent a lot of advertising, it can cause my TV to forget some of the local cable TV channels until I reboot the TV or rescan every cable TV again every few weeks.

Great pic and sound but could not get live tv for my dad. It would not save channels found so we got a newer antenna, it found the channels but then just buffered when one was selected. Dad was confused with the remote alsoand the Amazon prime home screen. We are going to just buy a smart tv and a new roku player after we unmount the tv.

TV was good while it lasted. After 3 years, it just stopped working. I've never had to replace a television for this reason in such a short period of time. Either this is just a bad one, or they don't make them like they used to where they work for many, many years.
