I have paid more, but its not Plasma
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV's have gotten cheaper, some, lot's of new cable cutting options out there...if you don't connect your Home PC via HDMI (don't care about Smart TV). My first LED, besides a cheap used one for kids PlayStation. I haven't used it very long, gotten used to it, but I will tell you, there is a big difference compared to my 42" 1080P Plasma, mine being a Panasonic (not talking about how much energy or weight). Internet, DirecTV, Netflix...its very noticeable. Grainy, blurring during pans/movement, just very noticeable. I will consider this when I finally replace my 50 inch. FYI, this is the "Direct" backlight.

Remote broke right away and no help Customer Serv

I tried all the reset suggestions online and still couldn't get it to work. And yes, I changed the batteries. I finally tried to get a hold of Customer Service. What a joke! You can't call for TV help so I chatted with someone that also couldn't help since the remote was not listed for some reason. They gave me an alternate to email which I did and three weeks later, I have not heard anything. Very disappointing and a waste of my time.

Don't Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is an updated review. Originally the tv worked well, but is is not used a lot. I was watching it one day and after about an hour the screen went black, but I still had sound. I turned it off and back on, and the screen came back on, but only for a few minutes, I would have to shut it off for for about 20 minutes to get another hour out of it. I though maybe it was the sleep mode, but even turning that off it didn't work. I reset everything and got the same result. I had to contact Toshiba as I was past my return period. They set me up with a tech service call through the Geek Squad. Several days later I get a call from the Geek Squad stating that they don't have the means to fix it and are now going to exchange it, but it is going to take 2 weeks, and from my conversation today that should be anytime now. They have been very helpful and have answered my question. I will not purchase another Toshiba Fire Edition TV again, as it had only been used about a dozen or so times before it quit working properly.
