Buy a different remote!

It's average in almost every way, aside from the major problems with the remote. If you're looking for a serviceable TV, and are willing to buy/already have a universal remote, why not compromise and buy this one?

Problem with picture going completely blank

Picture quality, when it was working, was good, as was the overall price. But, had the same issue as some others, where any increase in the backlight in picture settings caused the picture to go blank while sound still played. The only way to get picture back was to turn the TV off then on again in order to reset the supposedly faulty backlight overheating sensor via the internal software. The issue happen so often it render the set unwatchable at higher backlight settings, which was needed due to being in a bright room. Even after lowering the backlight down to stock setting, the picture would still go blank every so often. Just not usable overall, although I don't know how many sets this has affected overall. Maybe I'm just one of the unlucky ones.

Secondly, the TV's apps have made it easy for me to watch what I want to watch. Lastly, the Tv has the same issue my old tv had in which the HDMI sometimes only shows a single color rather than the images it should be showing when hooked up to other devices.
